Slap shots are the easiest and most fun.
Break aways are fun and the odds are in the goalies favor. Plus, they are probably the most practiced shots by goalies today.
Screen shots aren't that bad because the goalie has more blocking the net than with out the screen. Just cover as much net as possible and use what is blocking your view - watch out for the tips, though.
For the most difficult - think about the net mounted shooting targets, 5 spots:
High glove side - pretty easy for most goalies
low glove side - still pretty easy for most goalies
High stick side - can be a problem for many goalies because it is hard to get to the upper corner with a blocker when in a butterfly.
low stick side - major problem for most goalies because it is very difficult to cover the area 18-24" off the ice with a blocker and stick.
5-hole - with the butter fly style most common, a fast shot 6-8" off the ice will likely go in as the goalie is going down.
So, the most difficult to save is when the goalie is moving from side to side with a shot to the stick side - preferably 18" off the ice. Backhands can be very difficult to judge, but a forehand is usually a much faster shot.
