The "Goalie's Nightmare" shot.

A knuckleball bouncing puck slapped in from outside the blueline. Last year the Gophers vs UND had one of these from the far goal line.

They are hard to play...and embarrassing when let in!

No that's the toughest shot to stop for Frazee, although I hold my breath every time I see one sent my son's direction

I say a backhander - hard to tell how and when it's coming off the blade and the shooter typically has the goalie moving in one direction

If you play the situation right they aren't hard. You just have to be on your angle, and in the right position. The puck will probably hit you, in less the shooter is a snipe.

but typically - no one expects a goalie to save too many and when they do come up big, you're the hero. If they score no one thinks anything less of the goalie. You need to make them fun and when you see them come just say to yourself, "come on what you got dude?", challenge but be patient, make sure you are square to the puck and not just the shooter and don't bite wait for the shot.

Pressure should be on the shooter to succeed not for the goalie to save it. And remember if he beats you with a certain move chances are he likes it and can do it well and will probably go back to the same move if given the chance again.

Toughest shot to save? That would be a breakway. But, you cannot blame the goalie if he lets one in. Where's the D?

Otherwise the toughest shot to save: Would be the screen shot. Not knowing where the puck is going to go. The goalie can try to play the angle. Just to hear the sound of the shot and not knowing if its going to take your head off would be very nerve racking.
Life's simple, but some insist on making it hard

18 inches high, stick side!!! Over the pad, tough to get either the stick or blocker down quick enough!

I think the hardest shot to stop is a one on one when a guy is moving left to right top of circle and he shoots to the left, across his body a low hard shot on the ice, that gets through the defensemen. The goalie is moving to his left and usually freezes when the the shot is going to his right....which is usually on his stick side.
