How are they doing this tournament. No overtime games only shootouts.

Looks like Roseville got a bad draw. 2-1 or 4-3 shootout loss to roseau & 9-8 to stonewall. That has to be a shootout score.

Looks like Lakeville south will walk in the south and Fire or Stonewall in North. ANY OTHER SCORES FROM THIS MORNING

Not exactly sure on the rules.

But it looks like Fire will be number 1 in the north division for sure, Not sure about south.

If fire is number#1 then you play at 4:00pm look at schedule.
North #1 vs South #2 is at 4pm not 6pm

This is true, except for the fact that the fire are indeed number one. However, if they were to follow the normal schedule, the fire would have had to play Eagan again, two games in a row, when they had already BEAT Eagan. This was the case for the Roseau team as well. Due to the odd nature of the scheduling, teams were playing twice in a row, pre-championship, when they had already determined winners between two teams, so they changed it around today in order to make up for that.

Looks like Roseau really screwed this tournament up. Lakeville South should have been playing in championship vs Fire instead they played on saturday to avoid eagan and fire playing back to back. Now Eagan is playing Fire for championship and Lakeville south is playing stonewall for 3rd. I hope they don't use this same format in Jan.

Eagan is a better team than Lakeville South, and Eagan vs Fire makes for a much better championship game.

Game is underway right now.

Lakeville South is 1-0 vs Eagan score was 4-1. Eagan is a great team and I can see you saying a more balanced team. I don't think its fair to say a team is better when that team beats them by 3 goals.

Yes, Eagan is a much better team than Lakeville. The Fire beat them both as well, but as of right now, the series between Eagan vs Fire stands as
1-1 for each team. The Fire beat them yesterday, Eagan beat them today. Overall, the Fire was the best team in that tournament.

You also have to remember the fact that the Eagan A Bantam team carries kids that are 1-2 years older than the Fire. (Mostly 94's, possible 93's depending on time of birth, due to the stupid MN rules).

Stupid rules, if you followed rules you wouldn't be allowed to play as the fire in Minnesota. This is why fire teams get ripped. Don't come on hear and say your kids lost because the kids are older. You have a big advantage picking kids from all over the state of minnesota and if you can't find any there look in Wisconsin. Good Luck in the future. I thought for once we had a parent from fire who wouldn't make excuses. Why do you enter minnesota tournaments?

Not a parent on the fire. Nice false assumption though, you seem quite able to make lots of them.

Way to take everything I've said out of context.

I'm not making an excuse for a loss at all, please don't put words in my mouth.

I am merely commending the talent of the players on the Fire, considering that they are able to compete, and win with a much smaller player base, and at a younger age than the top A Bantam teams in the state. No one can deny the talent the Fire players have when they are able to beat top A Bantam teams 1-2 years older than they are.

I'm just curious to know how many '95 birthyear players are on Eagan's Bantam A? I'm guessing none. The extra year+ of physical development at this age makes a big difference. Chaos777's points are good. I'm not a Fire parent, but I have a ton of respect for the skill on the Fire teams.

Thanks for backing up my points, I agree with you one hundred percent.

I'm not trying to make excuses on why the Fire lost, only commending the talent of their players for their ability to compete.

Crossovers8 makes a great point when he talks about the extra year of development.

I'am not an eagan parent either and I respect the fire until they disrespect the team they are playing. Thats what they do when they lose they say we are 95 fire and most these kids are 2 years younger.

Another point you made about being the best in the tournament. On The day they handed out trophies you guys finshed 2nd.

I agree You had the best 95 team in tournament. See if roseau will put that on your trophy.

Sure, Eagan won the championship game, but the Fire also beat Eagan in an earlier game.

Therefore, the series between the two teams is one win for Eagan, and one win for the Fire. It's tied. It was happenstance that the game Eagan won happened to bet the championship game. Had this been the game where the Fire beat Eagan, it would've been different. You can't look at a tournament championship game to determine the better team. The series between the two is tied, and if District 8 didn't have a ban against playing the Fire, we could possibly some GREAT competition between the Fire and great District 8 teams like Eagan and Lakeville.

Do I think the Fire are the better of the two teams? Sure, yes I do think that. But I care more about good competition rather than claiming one team as the best over the other. We all can agree on one thing. The Fire have a great team. Eagan is a great team as well. Together, great competition. Why does District 8 have a ban on playing against the Fire when clearly the competition between the two teams is strong and fierce.

The Wisconsin Fire were easily the best team in the tournament. It's not about who wins the championship, because the champions can't beat the 3rd place Lakeville South. It is also not an excuse to say that the fire lost because they are 95's. Puberty and physical body development gives a player a whole new outlook. Eagan's smallest kid was probably the size of the Fire's biggest kid. 95's who beat a matured team of 94's and 93's is quite impressive and because a 95 team loses to at 93 94 team might have something to do with physical superiority. The Fire are a great team and so is Eagan, but the Fire is probably considering all in al a better team. Not to mention they are short 3 players on their bench.

Not all the teams in this tourney had all 93 and 94 players. I beleive lakeville south has 4 or 5 95's of their own. The fire was outshot 41-9 in the first eagan game. They are a highly skilled team that benefits greatly from the depth of their roster. If you can play all your kids at anytime its a great advantage. Only the largest associations have this luxury. They were also outshot by LS but the game was very close. The skill of the fire players on the back to back 5 on 3 power plays was the difference. As for lakeville south their record speaks for itself, they are a good team and capable of beating almost anyone, but they are also capable of losing to almost anyone aswell. LS played 11 games in eight days and clearly staggered to the finish line.

Chaos, you sound like complete Chaos in your posts. The Fire lost the Championship, they were not the best team in the is tournament when it counted. Eagan was. Deal with it.

As soon as the Fire can just play hockey and let their play on the ice do their talking, people will respect them.

The Fire did increase the speed and level of play in this tournament. All the AAA haters, I saw it in the Duluth post as well, keep in mind that while you want to shun these programs, the reality is that they bring a flare to a tournament because they play a different style of hockey, usually the difference being the speed of the game.
