Games over. As I said a very poorly played game by both teams. Difference was Horgan. Orono's D were terrible tonight.

Curti: 2g
Horgan: 2g, 1a
Mayer: 1g

Physical game. Lots of runs at Riley, especially early in the game by Skoog...to bad he got embarrassed and only ended up hurting himself.

We let him know how retarded he looked. Some cheap shots by Orono at the end of the game too...probably frustration but still..have some class.

I'm sure you "let him know how retarded he looked" in a really classy way right Reidy?? Mound fans are classles. I was appalled. Even some Mound parents were yelling "warm up the bus" and getting their keys out and shaking them. So I suggest you take a look at your own fans before you start criticizing others. Just a little pointer from one fan to another. Thank me later.

I'd like to know where I criticized Orono fans? You sir, are an idiot.

First off, I couldn't care less if Mound parents pulled out their keys and chanted "Warm Up the Bus" - at least they are having fun with it and enjoying the win...if you are gonna be such a girl about it, I suggest not coming to a hockey game.

Secondly, us Mound fans are just like any other school's fans. Roudy, loud, obnoxious, and rude. Being bitter about losing is stupid. You lost. Plain and simple. All the PLEASE BAN ME talking the days leading up to this and you got beat. Orono is an overrated team, plain and simple.

You want me to bash your fans? Ok.

Orono fans suck. You guys aren't loud at all, you have no energy, no excitement, your cheers are absolutely terrible...so repetitive and that little "Black Out" crap you try doesn't even work when your school colors are Dark Blue, White, and Red.

Orono sucks. Good luck next year.

Unless Brad was going to stap on the pads and play goal himself or recruit a couple of solid Defensemen, his teams fate wouldn't have been any different. This team went as far as it could on the shoulders of Persian, Skoog and Hansen. Congrats Orono on a good year. Mound should enjoy this emotional victory over their biggest rival as they prepare for the last game of their season Thursday.

this is a heated rivalry, all class is out the door on BOTH sides. I remember last year the Orono fans were throwing garbage at the Mound coaches as they walked to thier locker room...like i said both teams fans get heated about this one...no one walks away smelling like roses in any rivalry, this one is no different. Don't get offended just take it for what it is...

Well from my point of view, LAST season, there was trash thrown at the coaches from Mound. This was confirmed by not one but all four of the coaches...But i'll trust you Mr. English Language Extraordinaire...

Ryan would have gotten the best out of every player in the program...four or five of the defensemen this year were on the 2007 team that went to state and they were solid as sophmores. Agreed tho...Gabos was a complete joke this year. Seasons over tho and wish them the best of luck.

The fact is this team was completely lead by thier 3 big forwards. They can only do so much each game and as far as I am concerned they left everything out there in that third period.

The defenseman you are talking about have been average from Day 1. The reason they were so good when they were sophmores was because Pat McClure was out there. Tommy Fisk was supposed to be a stud, what happened there. Reese Walker and Hayden Hanson are just average defenseman, nothing special. It is tough when ya don't have that #1 solid defenseman to rely on.

I am not sure Brad Ryan could have done anything differently. Just ask people down in Faribault how things are going?

I was at that game yesterday and never saw anyone take deliberate runs at a particular player. Did kids get more excited to hit certain people, I am sure of that. However, nothing looked dirty in my book.

In my opinion both fans suck...Orono needed to be louder and as far as Mound...how old was the guy in the bird costume? Its sad when adults dress up as birds and wear orange stuff too. some things like that should be for the kids to have fun. It would be like seeing 40 year old men paint their faces for a high school game.

Nice game for Mound, especially their 1st line, Swanson played well in the net. Mounds D didn't let Orono get it going. Persian had a nice game, he is a quality player. Gabos did not have one of his better games, but I will say he has improved since last year and he had some quality games this season.
There were some good hits for both teams. Refs let most of that stuff go but called some pretty week ones,
Good crowd, I like the guy in the chicken suit. Parade parking can’t handle the numbers. Why don’t they play any tunes?

The guy in the Chicken Suit was a parent of one of the mound players. His name is Bob Kratch. He's hilarious..big guy too.

He is a former super bowl champ. He played with the Giants from 1989-1993, and then 1994-1996 with the New England Patriots.

He played guard for both teams.
