I think it could go either way, have not seen North play at all strengh of schedule does help, but will give the edge to Century if they play like they did against Mayo on Saturday.

Century 3
North 2
in overtime

i think this will be a great game! in the end it depends on how good centurys goalie plays. while centurys top line is amazing and one of the best lines, norht is very good and very fast and i think they will be able to score on selnow . however centurys top line is to much and will score often and along with centurys good D north wont be able to keep up. so in this game i pick cenutry

century 5 north 3

Since rockets4 picked Century, I will go with North.

Im starting the "Curse of the Great Rocket-4"..... hes 1 for 1 with saying JM would beat DC..

however, i think that Century gained alot fo confidence in the win over Mayo, and I just can't see Senlow getting cold, Lakeville needs to pepper him at the begining, which can build his confidence, or hurt it, should be a great game..

Does anyone know the last time 2 schools from Rochester played in the same state tourney? I know it would have to be a LHS and one of the public, but i think this is a good time for Rochester hockey to make a name for itself once again. Like JM did in 77?

The last time two Rochester schools went was 1999. Mayo went 2 and out and Lourdes lost in the consolation championship.

Hey rockets4, I do believe the first time these teams played that North won in Rochester earlier in the year. Yea both teams have gotten better, but to say that the top line is amazing, that's a stretch. Who's on the first line that make them amazing? Century's D is going to have to heads up also, North's forwards are very fast also. Should be a great game.

Century doesn't have a good history with Lakeville, so I am going to give Lakeville the upper hand. But Century has some great players, and their lines are clicking now that everyone is back and healthy. I think that the first game means nothing since Century had some many out....will be a great game but I think North will come out on top.

I would assume Lakeville North didnt really play there normal lineup the first time when they played Century though. North's coach always seems to give JV players a chance in the non conference games.

Lakeville North 3
Century 2

OT

History repeats itself, and these two teams play a multiple-overtime game. Lakeville North gets a lucky bounce a minute into the 4th overtime, and they earn the trip to St. Paul.

Please tell me who these great Century players are. We played them early in the year and they did not do much for me. I understand that they have improved and have some quality wins which is a bit more that North has done. I have seen both Faupels and Birkestrand. These guys are good talented hockey players but they are not in the same league as Leddy, Herbert, Paulek, and Simon. They beat Tartan before Tartan got their act together and a decent Roseville team. The lost to Lakeville South, and they had their big run against Mankato East, Fairbault, Marshall and Owatonna not exactly a murderer's row of high school hockey. I think this will be a close game. Century is feeling confident after the win over Mayo and North the same with the win over south. This is going to come down to goaltending and who can capitalize on opportunities. I can't wait to go.

I'll pick Century by a goal, but then again maybe North, but then again why am I even on this thread because neither team is good enough to beat the top 4 team that they will be seeded against in the tournament anyways...

Are you kidding me? LN taking the game easily? The last time LN and Century faced each other the game went into OT, and Century jumped to an early 3-0 lead but ended up losing 4-3, and Century wasnt even 100% healthy for that game.

Cotton, LN is not taking this game lightly, it sounds to me that Century is the one taking this lightly and have already won the game. The last time that these teams played was earlier in the season. LN won, was ahead the whole time and no overtime was played. Century had their main players playing in the game. As for your team being healthy, rumor was that there were team members in trouble for violating team rules and were sat for the game.

The overtime game that your thinking of was against LS, where LS won in overtime.

You are wrong, LN and Century DID go into overtime this year, and LN was not ahead the whole game....

From every site I see, LN and Century did not go into ot. From the big 9 hockey website, it was 2-2 after 1, 3-2 LN after 2 and both scoring in the 3rd. LN never trailed in the game.

Thanks Spartan, Cotton should do his homework before making a statement like he did. He can continue talking his team up, but talk is cheap. We'll see on Friday night . Good luck to both teams.

The Faupels and Birkestrand are not their best players. You are forgetting that they aren't even on their top line which consists of Jordan Martini, Cory Kautz and Drew Anderson. But I agree this game will go into OT with Lakeville North winning it.

that is how deep Century is they can win games at state if their goalie keeps playing well

what is up with all these people predicting a high scoring game. when was the last time that either of these teams even gave up 5 or more goals in a game. Arentz had a steller game against south and is looking pretty hot heading into the chip. Sellnow also looked quite solid against mayo.

i am gonna say that the goals will be hard to come by in this one. the winning team wont score more than 3 goals. it should be a battle to the end.

GO PANTHERS!
