I have no information regarding the position held by the NCAA…but I just can’t believe they would or even could govern over this. However, if the MSHSL restricts this type of event then they did so recently and it wasn’t communicated properly. I think most schools chose not to honor this tradition because they didn’t want to forfeit a scrimmage opportunity.

I did not see anything that stated the amount of scrimmages a team could have, only games (25).
and that is it would be a scrimmage when no score is being kept.
Now it looks that if you want to keep score then it is counted as a game.

But I am sure there are others on here that know much more than I.

Hey thanks for the info. We were diappointed that we could not have ours this year. Sounds like you guys had a great time. The scrimmage rule is the correct answer, but I did hear some rumbling about NCAA too. Could be that many coaches don't want their players playing in games like these when the season is in progress. More of a per school rule. More governing by MSHSL. yeah. gotta love'em

From MSHSL

• Instituted a limit of two scrimmage dates and one jamboree -- or three scrimmage dates -- applying to all sports.

I wonder what constitutes a Scrimmage date? 2 or 3 scrimmages in one day would that equal 1 date?

Anyway we should probably get back to what this thread is really here for, that just caught my eye for a minute. My favorites of the decade? Maggie Fisher, Ashley Young, Felicia Nelson, Amanda Stohr of So St Paul. Watching those girls play together was just special the way they clicked together. Favorite Goalie? Lenz at WBL ( Just a little partial to my bears there)
