You didnt hear this from me, but it is unfortunate that Minnetonka isnt in the tournament. Really good HS hockey team. Both BSM and Tonka should be in it but the MSHSL works in mysterious ways too.


But since thats the way it is, we are glad the Red Knights have completed the jouney From Constantinople to St Paul. In their 3rd year of opting up they make it to the real deal. Should be an inspiration to many other programs also referred to as BSqauders

Now we must get our remaining team, the HM Pioneers from the Coliseum to the great arena in the downtown of the Holy City.

Methinks that the Red Knights will end up much like the Black Knight when they get to St. Paul (see below), but despite the fact they're much better than the rest of us, it's always nice to see a club have the grapes to OPT UP (I'm lookin' right at you, STA). Congrats to Benilde.

You know Govs, we dont hold any grudges against the pagans. Even though they have chosen to stucture their schools in a way that is different than what we consider the norm, its OK with the Faithful.

You are still invited to Stations of the Cross on Friday.

But the Red Knights will be one of the favorites once the field is finalized.

They have not played a great schedule but have some quality wins to prove they can take it all home.

We started in Constantinople where we were freed by Constantine from centuries of persecution.

We now arrive in St Paul. Some "fall aways" might say "What'd I tell yah" but I say "Thy will be done".

At Mariucci last night, anyone notice the Burnsville student section having a group prayer before the game and just prior to the start of OT?

After seeing that, I've concluded one of the following 3 things:

A) God's a Hornet fan
B) God's NOT a Blaze fan
C) God doesn't care who wins MN high school hockey.

I found it funny how a lot of people never gave respect to Benilde all year and said Tonka would win that game no question. The first game they had was close, so I knew this one had potential to go either way. I honestly was not impressed with Minnetonka from what I saw from them this year. They were a solid team no doubt, but nothing really stood out to me last night I guess. Basically, the hype ruined them for me when they didnt live up to it I think. Like someone stated in another thread, they only played 2 periods and in high school hockey, that won't cut it, especially against a team like Benilde in the section finals. I wish the Red Knights all the best next week. Now if only the Pioneers can slay a Bear on the way to St. Paul...

True, it is all in HIS hands.....but that still doesn't mean he cares who wins & loses!

Not exactly sure why picking Minnetonka would be "funny". All year long, they beat some of the best AA teams in the state - Edina, Centennial, Hopkins, etc. Obviously BSM won their fair share of games, but a vast majority were Class A and many that weren't that great. As PB will tell you, Class A shouldn't count!

Not knocking them for their win, but I don't know that picking Tonka was a dumb pick by any means.

Agreed Govs. Nobody is sayng that Tonka doesnt deserve to go to state too but very few on the bored except a couple of us picked BSM to win.

Tonka was a good choice as was BSM. Ive seen BSM play and they are good.

I am beginning to wonder if the Catholics are having some influence on Roseau's success. I remember being a kid in Roseau and going to the creamery with my Grandpa to drop of the milk cans. More than once I heard the "men" talking and trying to figure out what to do with all the Catholics who were moving to town. And to make matters worse......God forbid.....the Catholics wanted to build their own church. There was probably even a discussion about building a Catholic school!

It is interesting to look back only 50 years and to think about how ridiculous the whole conversation really was. I guess a few families just took a detour on the road from Constantinople.
