Any team can get lucky but in my more than 40 years of being involved in the game, once the teams get past the first round of playoffs, the teams that have the most depth, best defense, best shooters and good goaltending usually win. Neither Marshall or LDC have those combinations.
yeah your right lets just hand the section to new ulm. They are the number one seed, why waste time with a section tournament jus have new ulm play hutch. underdogs never win anyway right?
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Do you think the 1980 olympic team was anything close in talent to the russians or anyone else in the world at that time? this years arizona cardinals, the giants in last years super bowl. how about hill murray over mighty roseau last year. And are you saying that they team that makes it to state from this section that may not be as skilled as some of the others should just forget it and not even try to compete because i think this section is better than given credit for.
Yeah your right lets just lay down and die.

I don't agree with you much of the time but you are right. Thats why they play the games. You don't know who is going to win, a team may have more skill but that does not always mean they are going to win the game. I also believe a little hart goes a long way and just because you have skill doesn't mean you have hart. Lets play Hockey
LDC seeding

sregit34 - we all know you are a Marshall player, past or present. Lets see how lucky Marshall is with Willmar. Willmar is a much stronger team and is seeded well ahead of Marshall. Yeh.. Marshall could get lucky and score a few goals. They may even be able to skate with them for a period but Willmar has more depth, better defense, more kids who can score and better goaltending.

I see that all 3a games are posponed till tommorow.
i see that the marshall v. willmar game is at 330, and the others are at 7...
shouldnt they all be at the same time considering they all have to play the next day and you dont want to give any teams a unfair advantage?

Three and a half hours' advantage?

Yes, they have been trying to schedule all 4 state tournament opening round games at the X at the same time as to not give anyone an unfair advantage for the next game but 8 teams and 12 officials on the ice at the same time were far to much for the X to handle so they had to favor a couple of the teams every year. Not fair, I know but it still seams to make for some enjoyable games. I think on a couple occasion, the team with the least rest has even pulled off the big upset.
