On the Elite League roster - it has Marshall. There is another goalie on the list for the Goalie St. Cloud camp that isn't going to the HS next to his name. I'd venture to say the Elite League roster is more accurate.
So you're suggesting that he registered for the camp as attending TG and then changed his mind and is staying at Marshall?
Caspers is staying in Marshall. He’s a captain this year.

Had a Hibbing guy tell me that Blace Tomberlin was transferring to Rapids this year.
Max Preps shows him as being added to the Grand Rapids Football Roster yesterday so it appears to be true. I believe his Dad is still the coach at Hibbing.

Had a goal and three assists last year as a junior for Hibbing. Will he even make the team in Rapids with all these super sophomores coming in? There has to be another reason why he moved.
If it is for hockey, why not Greenway instead. Greenway is not very deep and you would think he would get plenty of ice time for a team that will be a solid #2 in the preseason 7A rankings. Plus, it's his dads alma mater.

Blace? Is that a name or a typo?

Not a typo. From what I here it’s more because of football and baseball. Don’t think he’ll be an impact player in hockey.

Agreed. Huge get for an EP team that was already considered a top 10 team but had some questions on depth. This helps alleviate that concern.
On a sadder note, is it just me or are the out of state transfers getting more and more abundant every year? Can guarantee not every mshl rule is being followed in all of these, yet I’ve never once heard of a consequence. Any better mn hockey history minds know of an instance?

GB, have you seen him play? I've not, but I see he is 5' 8" and was the 7th leading scorer on a midget team from California. If he's that good, someone should make a run at getting the number 1-6 scorers.

Yea, I traveled last winter and spring following his squad. It cost me a divorce, I'm now broke and I spent four days snowed in at Whistler, but heck I love hockey so I'm ok with that. Great hockey they play in the Bay Area. During groupie travels in watching his team, I noticed a 12 year old playing for the Maui Fighting Bananas AA Team who really impressed me. I may let WMetro provide the scoop on this kid (half Samoa half Argentinian) in a couple of years. GB

They aren't out of California. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies is out of Troy, Michigan. Not that it matters. They have some solid AAA teams and players.

GB- I’m on top of it! He’s was thinking about transferring to Wayzata PeeWees. But he tells me was concerned about O’Leary defensive style - the Wayzata Way !

Today's posts further confirm how provincial some (many?) Minnesotans are about their hockey. Oakland Grizzlies have been an upper-echelon Midget program for at least 5 years and frequently place kids in the "final 40" - I know they invite more than that now - tryout for the NTDP.
Player in question is from New England, with two older brothers on Notre Dame...or at least two kids on Notre Dame have the same last name and also hail from the same town in New Hampshire. I'm sure he'll fare well in Minnesota HS hockey.

Not being familiar with a midget program from another state = being provincial? Also are MN hockey fans any more provincial than basketball fans from IN, football fans from TX, baseball fans from....?

It's ok, the brothers are one of us:
"Matt and Alex are right wingers. They were born in Minnesota, but their family moved to Hanover before landing in Bedford in 2006."

From what I hear Blace will be in green this year.
