in my opinion it really wouldn't make much sense to go over to your opponents town and allow them to see that you are hurt and where you are injured...crutches and wheelchairs you can't really hide but a cast is no problem, a sling can be removed and an IV can be put in a pocket

though i do agree... there is no way anyone would sit at this point- its all or nothing

I did...
Yea austin was at the albert lea game wearing their letter jackets. Whats the point?
Obviously you didn't read the entire post. #-o The point is: injury or not every player will be suited up and ready to go =P~

Swiss you should concentrate on school, not the forum.
Obviously reading comprehension is not your strong point.
I will look for you on the bench.

Where is Jet? is 12 playing?

I agree she is not the whole team, but she is a valuable piece.

AL 5
Austin 2

if she's not the whole team does it really matter?

we are obviously not allowed to know since no one has answered that question and jet hasn't been on since the injury has been brought up... maybe no body really knows

AL 4
Austin 3

A team that has 92 of 142 goals scored by 1 line. In other words 3.68 goals per game by 1 line. It's a lot easier said than done, but if you can contain that 1 line you got a shot.

Austin's team will ALL be on the ice with fire in their eyes.

You can bet they will not squander the opportunity to get to the Section finals, and beyond, if it is in their power.

4-3 may be rose colored glasses.

bold words coming from someone who has supposedly "seen" an injured Packer player... at least the Faribault refs won't be there-should be fair calling

Anyone that wants info about 12 can call me at home. I should be there for the next few hours. Of course I do have caller ID.

See ya at the game.

I have to say that your Section 1A community sure likes to have fun with each other - quite entertaining even for the non-Section 1A fan!

For those who weren't at St. Peter Austin beat AL 4-1 with the last goal coming by way of empty net. Austin was the dominant team but AL had some chances that they couldn't capitalize on. It was fun for the week I was on here and I will see you next year.

Where oh where is Falcon89?
5-3 in favor of West, huh?
Was it the Refs fault AGAIN????

AL got destroyed. Wasn't even close. Austin took control and never gave AL a chance to get back into it. The Tigers were simply domesticated house cats.

#12 of Austin, really looked injured. If that is injured, I want my whole team injured. Nice info AL.

MW has really improved. Jet nice tan. Being Jet doesn't want me on his side, I will take MW to win it.

MW 5
Austin 3

By the way AL, our season lasted 2 hours longer than yours. We Win.

To all you who have no clue.. Did you see the Austin Al game? The Packers played terrible in the first period and were still able to stomp the all mighty AL team that every one said would end Austin's season. Oh and Falcon sorry bud I really thought we would see you again in the section final so we could show you once a again what Austin is all about..WINNERS.
GO PACKERS SEE YOU FOR THE SECTION FINAL THURSDAY

AL-Austin was a fun game to watch- AL had their chance but Austin was clearly the better team last night
good goaltending by Austin though AL's goal was kind of weak

i was very impressed by Austin's last goal... #12 could have shot it but passed it over to #5 for the "sure" goal... most unselfish play i've seen

good luck to both Austin and MW may the best team win and represent us well in state

Congratulations to the seniors of Albert Lea and Faribault. I have enjoyed watching you develop as players and adults over the last few years. Your leadership has been outstanding. You have had tremendous highschool careers. Goodluck in continuing your hockey way of life, in college, or on many other platforms. Thanks

C'mon it was sort of close. Although Austin controlled most of the play, those 2 goals in the first were pretty soft. The goal making it 2-0 kind of sucked some life out of the AL girls, fortunately AL got out of the period only down 2. After the softies AL had decent enough goaltending to win the game. It's AL's inability to score (and bad turnovers) which has haunted them all year. That and their inability to contain Austin's #1 line...I think they were in on all 4 goals. Regardless, the better team won and like I've said from the beginning of the season - Austin is the team to beat.

You may have won the battle falcons, but AL won the war. AL took 3 out 4 points against Faribault this year and let me remind you that Faribault's record against AL is 0-1-1. :P :P :P But hey, you'll always have that tie in the "timely dislocation" of the net game. :P :P :P

Im so sorry I misunderstood that message. And what you said about how your game lasted longer then Albert lea. They played before you and they didnt play cheap. AL is a strong team just like Austin and your score prediction well once again you are wrong.
Austin 4
AL 1
I was looking for you at the game just so I could tell you the score in case you missed it. Oh and I was on the bench.

Any predictions on the Austin vs. MW game?

Packers do it again
By Mike Simmons, Albert Lea Tribune

Wednesday, February 14, 2007 9:15 AM CST

ST. PETER — The Albert Lea girls’ hockey team played its heart out Tuesday night at Gustavus Adolphus College against its I-90 rivals from Austin but came up just short 4-1.

It was the second year in a row that the Packers ended the Tigers’ season in the section semifinals.

Albert Lea lost to Austin twice in the regular season 4-1 and 5-2 as the Packers continue a spectacular 23-3 season. But the Tigers seemed to have peaked at just the right time, winning three in a row for only the second time this season, including snapping Marshall’s 12-game win streak to head into the sections.

“This is not what I expected, I expected to win this one,” said Tigers head coach Steve Falk. “I am just absolutely so proud of our girls and how they played all year. It’s just really hard seeing the seniors play for the last time. But take your hats off to Austin they are a big strong team and deserved to win.”

A.L. got outshot in the first period 16-6 and the Packers slipped two of those by goalie Kendra Olchefske for a 2-0 lead after one. Olchefske played a terrific game in goal stopping 28 of 30 shots she faced.

The Tigers played like they expected to win in the second period as they held the Packers scoreless on 10 shots. A.L’s offense stepped it up with eight shots on goal and had a 5-on-3 power play with 8:30 remaining but was unable to capitalize.

This was slowly turning into the type of game A.L. wanted as it entered the third period. The Tigers trailed by just two and held Austin to fewer shots each period while it increased its own shots on goal.

The Packers took a 3-0 lead with just 8:51 left in the third period but still the Tigers would not

quit.

Finally, with 1:31 remaining their hard work and relentless play paid off when Jenna Christensen found the back of the net to draw to within two at 3-1. Christensen was assisted on the Tigers’ goal by Madi Passingham and Amy Gackstetter.

With less than a minute to play coach Falk pulled Olchefske out of goal to put another attacker on the ice and with 34 seconds left Austin found the empty net for the three point section 1A semi final win.

With the loss, the Tigers finish a very respectable 15-11-1. Playing their last game for the Tigers were seniors Sarah Jensen, Marisa Cottrell and Olchefske.

Austin 4, Albert Lea 1

Austin 2 0 2 - 4

AL 0 0 1 - 1

Scoring Summary (AL only)

Third Period- Jenna Christensen (Madi Passingham, Amy Gackstetter)

Hey RSI, have you and Hocklocks made up yet? I wish those deleted posts were still here.

Jet you are too nice, if you were alive in the 60's you would of been a flower child.

No seriously, I will say Taylor Jenkins showed her usual class, in giving up that open netter to Grace Heimsness in the final minute. Jet you should be proud. Good luck.

RSI wrote:As much as I hate to say this, Austin is the team to beat in Section 1A. I would think that West has the best chance to knock them off, maybe Faribo, but all roads to State go thru Austin in '07. Albert Lea is still a couple years away from competing for the section title, they're still very young with some of their better players only Sophs and Freshmen.
For all you doubters and those who think I've been dissing Austin all season. This post can be found on page 1 and is dated 5/26/2006.

That would mean you are Austin's number 2 . You give out to much info.

My predictions were also very accurate.(swiss that is sarcasm) That is why Jet does not want me on his side. However I think Mankato West is going to give Austin a great challenge.

KUDOS, to Steve and Tom Falk for what they have done with the girls high school team. They both are very good coaches and are working and getting the respect of the girls. Steve and Tom have a very bright future with this team and the hard work between the players and the coaches may pay off big in a few years.

Also it was good to hear from Laura Hillman on the radio in the 2nd period interview.
