If they get a chance to play again what do you think that game will be like? Can DM earn another W? Would it be another blowout? Or would STA dominate because of how much aggression they would have from being embarrassed the first time around? Wouldn't that be a great game to go to? State tourney sounds like the perfect setting IMO.

Very good quote. I was happy to see Marshall go down and give STA a spanking. But in all reality I to would expect a great game if these to teams meet again down at state. Shots were fairly close but obviously I wasn,t there so I have no idea how quality chances were. All I know is Duluth Marshall deserved the first round. I do know one thing the Lake Superior Conference is quite a conference up here this year. The strength of the conference with Marshall, Denfeld, Hermantown and Superior and others is sure exciting. Throw in the Iron Range Conference with the Falls, Hibbing, Virginia etc and I don,t have far to drive to see great high school hockey. The North is represented well.

I was at the game....unfortunately. The best way to summarize what happened is STA didn't come ready to play and Marshall did. Marshall did look good offensively, but not as bad as STA looked defensively. Don't get me wrong, Marshall deserved the win, but the lob sided score can mostly be attributed to bad STA defense. STA typically has pretty solid D, but Saturday they just look flat. This type of score is what you see when a good team comes to play. Hats off to Marshall, but lets hope STA gets a chance to redeem themselves in St. Paul in March.

If there were to be a rematch at state, who do you thing would have the advantage for that game? Marshall because they smoked them in their first meeting and know they can beat them, or STA because they will want revenge and will have a lot of aggression built? I can most certainly guarantee if they met up again the score would be much closer.

I had a friend at this game and he said STA's goalie didn't look very good. Is this true? Did he have an off game or was it more the Ds fault?

I was there. The STA goalie played fine. It was the entire team that made it look like he didn't play very well. I'm sure that if he wasn't playing very well, the coach would have pulled him much earlier in the game.
