Oshie was not in any way recruiting----All the many other examples we could all mention were definately recruiting in only the way Warroad has over the years.

Right, Warroad is the only town that has recruited! I'm not going to say no one from Warroad has tried to get a player to come to town, but don't try to say no other town in MN has recruited a kid.
Actually, i witnessed Roseau's Carpet King himself telling a very good defenseman from Warroad that he would be more than welcome to use his basement as an apartment. He even offered a free Harley if he'd move 21 miles west. Believe it or not, but i saw it and heard it first hand.

I don't think that they are the only one's. TRF brought in a goalie 7-8 years ago that got beat out by a local kid. I am saying that obviously Warroad does it better!

They have todo it better, they dont know how to develop what kids they do have, so they learn how to get people to move to Warroad. You watch, after next year, Warroad will not make state for a long time. JV down they are weak in both numbers and talent, I wouldnt be surprised if more kids move out of Warroad than to there.

I dont think we should go there. TRF has problems of there own in the youth ranks. The JV team only has 6 or 7 guys without the varsity players that play jv.

TRF 1
Warroad 2
FINAL/2 OT
The better team won. Final shots were 57-29 I believe. They were 37-27 at one point. There wasn't a single penalty called after the 1st period. Lucas Dillon was hauled down right in the slot with 20 seconds left in the game and the refs watched (deja vu?). There was a brawl and they still wouldn't call a penalty. I am starting to get sick of seeing Warroad win every close game in sections (with exception the 2006 prowlers). It's time for somebody else to step up...Park Rapids. Since we all know that probably won't happen, congrats Warroad and good luck at state. I believe I called OT by the way. I honestly thought we were going 4 OT's again.

...oh and by the way, hats off to Zane Gothberg. He played great and proved why he is the best goalie in section 8A. I'm gonna go on a limb and predict a TRF section championship next year, thanks to Mr. Gothberg. It's only like 370 days away.

There are two good teams left in the other bracket.
I think we could still see someone other thatn Warroad.
I would not bet on it, but it could happen!
Can't wait for Monday night.

I was impressed with warroad. The better team won, and most of all they were very classy. Most of the warroad team surrounded Zane after the hand shake and gave him praise. I think that is the most classy thing i've ever seen any team do. Without Zane this wasn't even a contest. Best goalie play I've seen. I was just shocked to witness an entire team do that to an opposing goalie.Very classy warroad. Good luck at state.

This is a good post and I agree with it. The Warriors showed great class after the game especially Bryce Ravndalen. He stayed a long time on the ice talking with the Prowlers and with Zane. It was a fun game to watch both teams played hard. In the end the warriors had more left in the tank in ot. Zane played the game of his life and it took a deflected puck to beat him. Luck to the Warriors the rest of sections and hopefully at state.
