I can't say I agree with this.... Warroad's victory last year was just revenge from 2006.... besides, it wasn't that controversial... TRF should just come to the realization that Warroad has a superior hockey team, and actually has the ability to do something at state.... (flashback to the last time TRF went to state...) lol!

Good call, Schwanger - looks like the tool is back from Celebrity Rehab. Sad part is, his team walks in this one...

You can't say that last years win wasn't that controversial because it was. Whether it was a penalty or not, people talked and debated about it for days. Nobody is debating that Warroad has a superior hockey team almost every year. However, after this year, things may change a bit. Let's see how they do without a Selvog, Oshie, Marvin, or Ravndalen in there lineup.
Also, that 2006 TRF team beat the Warriors in Warroad and outshot them by 30 to make it state. Then went to state and played a team they lost to 9-0 at home during the regular season and lost 4-3 in the final minute without a Mr. Hockey finalist for half the game. That team (Hermantown) then went on to lose to the eventual state champ in 2OT. TRF then beat Orono 2-0, the team who lost to STA (state champ) in OT. TRF then went on to play Blake (a team they lost to 10-4 during the regular season) in the consolation championship and lost 4-3 without Michael Forney but a JV player on the first line. They represented section 8 very well that year. I don't recall them getting beat 7-2 or anything like Warroad did last year. They also didn't get to play Albert Lea (2), Orono, Fergus Falls, or Farmington in the first round like Warroad has this decade.

Just when I was going to start being nicer to you, Schwang! Like MNHOCKEY said last years victory did have a touch of controversy to it. TRF and Warroad have had some classic battles the past few years in the section tourney. I expect more of the same Saturday night.

MN75:
All that after you picked Warroad to win? What will they do when they don't have a Ravndalen on the roster? That's what people said on here when selvog, oshie, and marvin graduated. Someone else always steps up and carries the team. If there isn't an all-star to do it then they band together and do it as a hardworking team...i.e. the 2000 state tourney team. I learned that lesson 20 years ago when Larry Olimb graduated and i thought it may be a while before warroad went back to state. they went the next year on Damon Foster's back. Don't worry about warroad, they have no trouble reloading. Don't look now, but there seems to be a Nelson waiting in the wings and i believe he comes from a somewhat talented hockey bloodline

My post wasn't about this year's teams. I know for a fact that Warroad is better than TRF and everyone else in this section and most class A teams. I was just replying to the "controversial" finish last year and the rip on the 2006 prowler team. I get a little testy when people start to talk about there play at state. I thought they played as well as they could've considering Michael Forney separated his shoulder. I'm hoping it's a good game tomorrow because I don't think the championship will be no matter who they play.

Warroad will probably get out of the Section, but will not compete at the State Tourney. A couple good players, but they tend to play as individuals when they get behind, which will happen at State. One and done for the Warriors.

Lol... As much as I love Warroad hockey... I have to say that you have a point here... but I will say that I was there when Warroad lost to Hermantown, and it was a PLEASE BAN ME loss... Warroad had them in the noose, then came bad calls... I don't know how bad TRF's loss was... but Warroad (in my awesome opinion) remains the god of 8A hockey...

Look at the season record right now... Warroad wouldn't stand a chance in AA... What would you rather happen, Warroad being good competition for A teams, or for them to fade into obscurity for the neverending losses from teams that dominate... Warroad doesn't have a godly team every year... 2005 was just amazing...
