The Tender wrote:what is up with all these people predicting a high scoring game. when was the last time that either of these teams even gave up 5 or more goals in a game. Arentz had a steller game against south and is looking pretty hot heading into the chip. Sellnow also looked quite solid against mayo.
i am gonna say that the goals will be hard to come by in this one. the winning team wont score more than 3 goals. it should be a battle to the end.
GO PANTHERS!
Who is to even say Arentz is going to play for LN? Thomas played the quarterfinal...I think its going to be Arentz but you never know what Schmitz will do

well i would say it probably will have a fair share of goals scored assuming that both goalies are young and both teams can put the puck in the net... LHS is going to state in class A just think if Peterson Funk Spratte Vessle and Hexum would have chosen to attend public school Century would be contending for the title

Why do they switch off? from what i saw Arentz is very strong. Seems like an easy decision for any coach. is the other goalie that good?

I'm taking Big9 Century over North on this one by two goals. They simply are a solid team, proved it against Mayo, Duluth East, etc.
I watched them vs. Mankato West in the regular season. Down by 2 goals in the 3rd didn't stop them, they came out and scored 3 in the 3rd game tying the game into overtime, but then it ended in a tie.
Sellnow's young but will be solid in net for the Panthers. Plus Century would just represent 1AA the best

both of their goalies are very inconsistent. they will play like martin brodeur in one game and jeff frazee (gophers version) in the next.. its really troubling to watch...

not to get off topic but speaking of jeff did anyone see the wild game last night where they scored a game tying goal from a center ice dump on net haha

Yes, I saw that goal. Goalie looked like a mite goalie on that one.

It got the Wild a crucial 2 points though in a win on the road at San Jose. Thats a kind of win that could turn around a season.

North may play tougher teams but when it comes down to it, the Sisters of the Poor could beat North
Freshman Nate Arentz will continue to carry the LN team to the state tourny. 2 goals vs Farmington, 3 vs South...
How about LN 6 Century 4...Arentz gets 4
Freshman... 4 goals... hah good joke
Nate Arentz will have to change his shorts after the first period cuz he will be so nervous.. oh and if any team needs a freshy to carry them to state, then id say the rest of the team is worthless
#2 cant even stand up on skates

BF Bomber--You sound like a bitter kid that got cut and #2 took your spot. Get back to class.

I could easily see coach Schmitz sitting Arents because he is in ninth grade and only because of that. I didn't think he let players that young on the team still. That has always been his knock. The fact that he only plays upper classman. He is a joke and is solely the reason that kids move out of the area to play hockey.

well he wouldnt sit arentz cuz he leads the team in goals..... hes not a borderline player the kid can really play

Who is laughing? I personally think Century will win this game. But I am not the bitter one that got cut from the team and is now upset and making fun of someone that took his spot on the roster!

well its good you think century will win because they will and no i have never tried out for any Lakeville team and i sure wouldnt have gotten my spot taken on any team by #2.. unless it was the adaptive floor hockey team inwhich he has that spot on lockdown.

Hey rockets4, I do believe the first time these teams played that North won in Rochester earlier in the year. Yea both teams have gotten better, but to say that the top line is amazing, that's a stretch. Who's on the first line that make them amazing? Century's D is going to have to heads up also, North's forwards are very fast also. Should be a great game.
hey gophers1 lookslike i ws rite

Since rockets4 picked Century, I will go with North.
Im starting the "Curse of the Great Rocket-4"..... hes 1 for 1 with saying JM would beat DC..
however, i think that Century gained alot fo confidence in the win over Mayo, and I just can't see Senlow getting cold, Lakeville needs to pepper him at the begining, which can build his confidence, or hurt it, should be a great game..
Does anyone know the last time 2 schools from Rochester played in the same state tourney? I know it would have to be a LHS and one of the public, but i think this is a good time for Rochester hockey to make a name for itself once again. Like JM did in 77?
so how is that curse workin out? looks like i was rite on!
