I've heard a ton of good things about this gal from Mayo. She'll be one to watch this year. While Psimos got a ton of early recognition and Harwood became a P2 NDP kid, the Erickson girl is the linemate I believe? that hasn't always received as much attention and may well be not given enough credit as a strong player.

Kelsey Johnson and Kaleigh Bell, combined with Polansky make Stillwaters defense one of the best in the state. I have seen these three play and all three are great skaters and loaded with skill.
I have to see these gals play more (I don't get to see Stillwater enough). they, like the Erickson girl from Mayo, may not be getting as much credit as they deserve.

Another to watch is the older Ketcher gal (Carissa?) from Mound-Westonka who xfered to EP this Fall. I hear she was out with mono about half the season last year. I haven't watched her play much, but I hear good things. I hear the younger sister is a pretty good player as well - but haven't watched either play much personally - (Kelsey?) I think she is a Jr?...

Brit Erickson isn't underrated in Rochester (or the Big 9), we've known for some time now she's on the same level with her linemates, Ali Harwood and Katie Psimos. She does just about everything well; skating, stickhandling and scoring. She also plays D when needed and is solid in that capacity as well.
If you mention any one of these three Mayo forwards, you really need to mention the others as well. I'd have a hard time leaving any of these 3 girls off the list.

The problem too is that S MN players sometimes don't get the consideration they deserve I think. Often people look at some teams with big point scorers in the south, and they write it off to poor SOS, etc. Then some look at the Mayo kids and think they play the same SOS, but they don't. They play a stronger SOS, and subsequently their point totals aren't easily compaired.
Bottom line is that as always you need to see the players play to make a fair assessment of their ability, and even then if you don't see them play a lot you have to rely on your limited contact.
For me, I saw Psimos quite a bit. Felt confident enough in what I saw of Harwood. Didn't have any knowledge of the Erickson girl. Will be watching this year, that's for certain.

I have seen that top Mayo line play. It is enjoyable to watch a complete line play the game. All three contirbute to the success of that group equally. Mayo does play a decent SOS. I have seen only a few S MN teams play though. I have seen two Austin girls play this summer. They were pretty good hockey players. I have heard that Mayo Dominates the Big 9. How does Austin do when they play Mayo? I have heard that Austin lacks alot of depth and relies on a couple of players.

Falcon 89...i have to disagree with you that the top line of Mayo contribute equally. While I agree that all three of them are very talented players, they do not play that well as a line. Two of them are doing more of the work in the corners, back checking, etc. while one of them tends to position herself in front of the net waiting for the pass from her linemates. Its too bad, with their talent they could be one of the top lines in the state this year.

I'll disagree with you there, hockeybuff. All 3 work hard and the one girl you're probably referring to doesn't just sit in the slot and she could be the best backchecker of the three. In the offensive zone, their roles can become too set, but probably because of a tendency to fall back on what each does best. Not the worst thing to have the player who's best in the corners playing in the corners, best finisher finding the slot, etc. However, I might agree that all 3 forwards doing all things well would be a more effective line.

My daughter Katie has been a varsity fast pitch softball player since her freshman year. She also played varsity soccer in 9th and 10th grade. She gave it up her junior year to play for the "before and after" Minnesota Rapids team and also to reduce her risk of injury. She had two very close calls, injuy wise, and both were soccer related. Also participates in NHS, Mentor Connections, Student Government and is the Senior Class President.
Has a part time job working for the city of Brooklyn Park.
She is in the top 3% of her class.
I have no idea how she does it.
She didn't get it from her mother or me.
We are very proud.

Can you tell?

I haven't seen Roseville yet (I will) but Ms. Cody seems to be off to a strong start. Overall though I've been mildly surprised by the relatively quiet starts for a few...but it's early of course.

I have noted the following:
Kilpatrick of New Prague had a hat trick I think on Tuesday night.
Nelson of Spring Lake Park has 8 goals and 7 assists in her first 5 games
Cody looks like she is off to a great start

Below are the names that were published on the Star Tribune web site that were missing from your list. I also removed the ???'s from Bliskowski and corrected the spelling of Katie Horner. Also, I removed the Princeton and ???'s from Karthrine Chute. She has not made up her mind, but I sure hope she deceides to go to Dartmouth, which is where Amanda Trunzo and is also going.
