The Podcast That Wasn't

Just FYI...we recorded a 45-minute podcast last night, but apparently noticed later that we just recorded a bunch of white noise. Don't blame me, I'm just the call-in guest. :P

It was a pretty standard episode anyway, nothing too exciting, though I'm sad that Tony's Freudian slip in which he referred to a certain player from a certain northern team as being the "straw that stirs the drink" has been lost for posterity.

How can we find your podcast on iTunes? I searched and couldn't find it; perhaps I had the wrong search parameters.
Thanks!

Post it. It's probably better than the garble you buffoons put up every week 😜

Seriously when Tony and I played it back after we recorded it sounded like the static channel on TV

We'll have one next week and post it

Yeah..it's all on me.

Here are some highlights:

The Freudian slip
Tony bragging that he picked HF to win TT
Talked games last week
Talked this week games and made picks
We each chose a Frankenstein team by position (best forwards, best defense, best goalie and best coach to coach them). Here is mine (note, we couldn't have identical groups):

Forwards - Hermantown (Sandelin, Watkins, Jacques, Judnick, Valure)
Defense - Holy Family (Anderson, Tabor, Marooney, Ziemer)
Goalie - Hill Murray (Bagley)
Coach - Dave Snuggerud (thought I was suppose to pick coach who most resembles Frankenstein)
:D

What were the thoughts about Wayzata losing both games, and also on Lakeville South over Breck?

Why? Is he destined for disappointment at the collegiate level? :P

For me the Wayzata losses don't weigh to high because they still look like a promising team watching them on Friday and i think they just need to season a little bit more. I think this Friday will be telling to see what a whole week of practice changes before Hermantown.

Lakeville South i will see tomorrow and how they play against Hermantown on Saturday should give us a better understanding on both the class A gap and how for real South is. South's opening schedule though is brutally tough.

 I set myself up for that one.

My Frankenstein team, for the record, was the Elk River forwards, the Lakeville South defense, and the Holy Family goaltending. The coach was, of course, my hero Tim Sager.

Pretty nice when your hero strengthens his position with another brilliant performance last night! Will be interested to see if they earned a ranking with their 3 - 0 start to the season.

BTW, when was the last time WBL beat DE?

2008...I have some memories of this game, an overtime affair at an arena in Superior back in the dark days before the Heritage Center.

Not sure if it'll get them into the top 15--teams usually need 2 big wins to make a serious jump like that--but I'm sure St. Sager will have them there in no time!

I was there. I remember making a stop at the Anchor bar for a burger before the game. Just can't believe its been that long since the last WBL victory with a legend coaching the bears.

Boy I thought the way you folks talk about this it may have been the WBL Hippodrome!
