A one win regular season squad that made it to the state championship game?
Which made it even more of a farce (sorry for derailing your thread, Karl).

You are correct but it was Tier 2 which some people don't really count.
Also after a ONE WIN regular season, which pretty much sealed the fate of the two-tier system right off the bat.

Re: Early Departures 2019-2020

I’m most curious to hear whether Evan Bushy returned to TRF. He had been getting regular shifts at Sioux Falls, but not much in the way of point production. The Prowlers chances take a huge hit if he stayed with SF. They struggle to score much even with Bushy.

Re: Single A Top 20 - Preseason

Thanks for getting the party started, Elliott. Sorry for my late arrival, as I was hosting some visitors this week. I have a write up of my own in the works, but will just list out the ranks for now. I may end up shuffling around a few of these once I have some more info. 1. St. Cloud Cathedral (27-...

Buffalo Bison 2019-20 Schedule

Not a “brand name” team, I know, but I was curious to see how the Lake would handle scheduling for Buffalo and STMA. Turns out that they will be playing a full home-and-away schedule with the top teams, with only one game against Hopkins. 8AA fans will no doubt bemoan that Buffalo and STMA still pla...

Which franchise has the better history of winning?
The Wilderness, as they won the 2015 NAHL championship (Robertson Cup), and also won the 2013 Dudley Hewitt Cup as central Canadian champions during their final SIJHL season.

Re: Which Varsity programs utilize their JV teams well?

Hill-Murray has basically run their JV program as a Bantam team the past few years, with much of the roster filled with 8th and 9th graders. It hasn’t really translated to major success at the varsity level yet, but it is definitely a unique approach, seemingly wanting to get kids into their system ...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

I wonder if Duluth East bring up 4,5, or 6 bantams early to high school this year again they did it 4 out of the last 6 years. Or heck, why not the entire Bantam AA squad. That would stir things up a bit. East did not have a very good BAA team last year, so they are in trouble if they are bringing ...

Re: Moving to Minnesota for HS Hockey

While there may be more high school age players moving into Minnesota now, this isn’t exactly a new issue. If memory serves, both Eastview and Eagan had kids move into the district from other states during some of their respective tournament runs. The 2000-01 (?) Jefferson team featured in the book ...

One thing that did give me a chuckle is how dismissive two of the podcast crew were of the accuracy of the forum rumor mill, when nearly every transfer or new addition mentioned on the podcast has been discussed, often in a definitive manner, on this here “bored.”

4 of the bottom 11 AA teams in terms of enrollment and 5 of the bottom 13 reside in 1AA. Only Northfield of those 5 is growing in terms of MSHSL enrollment. Rochester will be lucky to field 3 public school varsity teams in 10 years. Much like Minneapolis, St. Paul, and St. Cloud the middle class is...

Wait until Marshall drops to A. They’ll put Centennial or Blaine in 7AA. I hope it’s Blaine. Here’s my shot at ranking the strongest Class A sections, based on competitiveness near the top.
