Re: Which Varsity programs utilize their JV teams well?

Hill-Murray has basically run their JV program as a Bantam team the past few years, with much of the roster filled with 8th and 9th graders. It hasn’t really translated to major success at the varsity level yet, but it is definitely a unique approach, seemingly wanting to get kids into their system ...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

I wonder if Duluth East bring up 4,5, or 6 bantams early to high school this year again they did it 4 out of the last 6 years. Or heck, why not the entire Bantam AA squad. That would stir things up a bit. East did not have a very good BAA team last year, so they are in trouble if they are bringing ...

Re: Moving to Minnesota for HS Hockey

While there may be more high school age players moving into Minnesota now, this isn’t exactly a new issue. If memory serves, both Eastview and Eagan had kids move into the district from other states during some of their respective tournament runs. The 2000-01 (?) Jefferson team featured in the book ...

Re: YHH Summer HS Hockey Podcast 2019

One thing that did give me a chuckle is how dismissive two of the podcast crew were of the accuracy of the forum rumor mill, when nearly every transfer or new addition mentioned on the podcast has been discussed, often in a definitive manner, on this here “bored.”

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

I heard there is still some question around if BB will be allowed back, but then again... all rumors and such... I'm trying to understand how he wouldn't be allowed back though? I assume his parents still live in the school district (or he individually moved back in this summer, if that matters). H...

Well , since it’s State Fair time and we already have 18 pages on this thread ..... Man, CDH is really going to be a one ...

Re: Worst AA/A sections 1-8, 2019

4 of the bottom 11 AA teams in terms of enrollment and 5 of the bottom 13 reside in 1AA. Only Northfield of those 5 is growing in terms of MSHSL enrollment. Rochester will be lucky to field 3 public school varsity teams in 10 years. Much like Minneapolis, St. Paul, and St. Cloud the middle class is...

Re: Worst AA/A sections 1-8, 2019

Wait until Marshall drops to A. They’ll put Centennial or Blaine in 7AA. I hope it’s Blaine. I wonder if Blaine would put CEC or Grand Rapids on their schedule. 7AA is wacko metro 7AA squads don’t schedule north 7AA squads. Duluth East plays Andover. Nobody else does in the north 7AA. DEast and Elk...

Re: Worst AA/A sections 1-8, 2019

Here’s my shot at ranking the strongest Class A sections, based on competitiveness near the top. There is a pretty clear gap between the top three sections and the others, though 5A is always an interesting ride. 1. 8A EGF, Warroad, TRF, Cannon Fodder 2. 6A SCC, Alexandria, Sartell, Little Falls 3. ...

Re: Pre Pre-season (summer) 2019-2020 Single A rankings

Some of those teams may be in SCC conference, therefore they have to play them. Each AA Conference has dogs as well. Those are the teams they should crush. Looks like the Aa schools have figured out that there are some good teams in A and it is a benefit to play them. That is why the dumb QRF mesns...

Re: Pre Pre-season (summer) 2019-2020 Single A rankings

As a follow-up, I did my rankings prior to learning of the cross-border arrivals at EGF. If I were to re-rank based on that knowledge, I would probably put the Green Wave at #4 behind Mahtomedi. Yes, there is plenty of talent on the roster, but they also graduated a ton of scoring punch (and I tend ...

Also, Why is Motzko who is Minnetonka on GP? Those two moves are puzzling and could of led to other Northern Kids being selected. It’s not exactly a well-kept secret that Motzko will be returning to Cathedral for his senior year. (See the transfers thread for an extended discussion.) I’m sure the E...

I'm also going to pose the question 7TIMECHAMPS did. See Noah Rupprecht has SCC listed as his HS team and not TRF. Anyone have insight to this? I am inclined to believe that is a mistake. One of the first results when you search for Noah’s name is a local news article discussing him living on a far...

Dodge County made the A Bantam state tournament. They dropped from AA to A, they may be a year away from being very competitive in A. Greenway? Unless I’m missing something, I don’t believe the Raiders’ roster will be completely decimated.

Dang it, now I will have to get my rear in gear and respond with my own version!
