Re: something fun

Good on point recap Stang ! That Welch minute was a top 10 memory Thanks Westy. My memory isn’t what it used to be, but that Hastings QF win, and Welch’s amazing final shift, is basically seared into my brain 20 years later! (Admittedly I checked the box score for Blaine’s exact deficit.) That woul...

Re: something fun

-Help a younger guy out: was Blaine and Eden Prairie both going down in the 99 Tourney quarters as big of a deal then as it seems now? Not really. EP was still considered an up-and-coming program, and it was only their second tournament appearance. That EP team underwhelmed for much of the regular ...

Could it be that the colleges and pros have television contracts funding their programs and access to instant or rapid testing? And basically able to “bubble” their players. Even during regular circumstances, college athletes do much of their coursework remotely these days. Pro athletes are adults ...

66 high school football teams to miss playoffs:

That is nearly 1 in 5 teams from around the state, and three of the sections are down to merely three teams.

It looks like Buffalo has pulled the plug on the rest of their schedule (except maybe the final game?). I will try to get clarification as to whether it is due to Covid issues.

Re: Bridge Season Games

Solid game. BSM played without 5/6 varsity players including 3 Elite League players. Looked like HF had full varsity roster. Good to see both teams playing real hockey including 3 periods, intermissions, announcer, music and decent crowd to watch. Other bridge games have been played more like scrim...

Re: Bridge Season Games

An interesting Class A result, bearing in mind it is the first game for both teams:
Sartell 4. Monticello 0

The Sabres are expected to be much improved this year, and that is a nice start.

BSM 3-1 over HF transfer from Breck scored 2 goals Great  I thought he was so overrated according to the intelligentsia around these parts. As I understand it, the WHL granted temporary releases to players, and they are expected to return to their teams in mid-December.

Re: Early Departures 2020-2021

Here are the USHL early departures I could find on a preliminary scan through the rosters. Chicago’s roster does not appear to be final yet, and they could have a few given the number of Minnesotans on the roster. Still, this is a fairly low number of early departures compared to how many kids were ...

Osseo also waxed Buffalo 6-1 on Tuesday.

I have a feeling that many of the teams will be treating these games as an extended tryout (Maple Grove fielding two teams, for example).

Re: preseason (speculation) rankings A

Ugh, I whiffed on Monticello to some extent. I had it in my head that they lost a ton, but the roster looks pretty solid. They belong in the top 15 or so. Sartell should also bounce back big time and be frisky in 6A. I also was going on the assumption that Liffrig is leaving; if not, East will be a ...
