Re: Pre Pre-season (summer) 2019-2020 Single A rankings

Here's my attempt at this little ranking exercise. I'll go ahead and rank all the way to 20, because why not torture myself. 1. St. Cloud Cathedral 2. Hermantown 3. Mahtomedi 4. Warroad 5. Thief River Falls 6. Orono 7. East Grand Forks 8. North Branch 9. Alexandria 10. Duluth Denfeld 11. Greenway 12...

Re: Pre Pre-season (summer) 2019-2020 Single A rankings

Greenway? Unless I’m missing something, I don’t believe the Raiders’ roster will be completely decimated.

Dang it, now I will have to get my rear in gear and respond with my own version!

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

Let’s hope Elite League goalie selection is more accurate this year . As far as I know, the only two 2018-19 season goalies that have already officially made their junior teams for next season are Boynton and Howe , neither of which played in the elite league last year . They were teammates on the ...

What’s the word on Connor Mahony? Is he at BSM?

Blake
Oh for crying out loud, talk about the rich getting richer. I’d set the line for the Breck/Blake games this season at about Blake -4.5 goals. Blake’s IMAC games will be ugly.

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

Strong depth in this group, maybe not the star power with the senior class compared to last year. Also, a correction, Syverson at Holy Angels will be a junior, not a senior. OK to your question, not sure how legit is defined, but I would view it from the lens that a guy can control a game singlehan...

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

I wouldn’t say weaker. But overall less star studded and Brimsek is definitely up for grabs. It would be interesting to know how many games they played, who they played, and how many shots they faced (especially if they were backups the year before or split time). It would be interesting, but I thi...

GR has a schedule that will prepare them well come 7AA playoff time
If I am not mistaken, it is the exact same lineup of teams as last year. That final stretch starting with HM is brutal. Rapids could (and should) be much improved as a team, but still fail to crack .500 during the regular season.

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

Josh Weyandt Of Chan is often underrated / unnoticed. he was .915 in mshsl season last season. ,and over . 93 among the leaders in elite league last fall, Good call, Westy. It’s hard to tell sometimes with goalies on lesser teams like Chanhassen. They see a lot of rubber and don’t always have the b...

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

I wanted to move this post forward and see who are considered to be the top returning goaltenders for the upcoming season. Evaluating goalies is definitely not my forte, so I’ll start by listing the top ten returning starters by save percentage. I realize it’s an imperfect metric, but it is better t...

Re: Hockey Day in MN

Besides , Blake home ice is on the Hopkins campus 🤔 The school is across the street from Parade Stadium, Parade Park & Parade Ice Garden. Sure looks like a home game. Honest question. So Blake high school (grades 9-12) is on the Northrup campus next to Parade...Why not play high school games there?...

Awesome for Blake. Basically adjacent to the campus. I was a year early getting so excited about them for 2019. Pretty sure they'll be a top team 2020.
Bite your tongue there, good sir. I will not stand for the denizens of this board heaping praise upon my dastardly foes of yore

Brainerd last weekend with an early one: Bracket play: 1. Holy Angels 2. Bemidji 3. STMA 4. Brainerd 5-8. East Ridge, Alexandria, St. Cloud and Roch Lourdes (think in that order) All teams were missing some key guys/returners and playing some new young guys. Game of the weekend was STMA v Holy Ange...

Re: NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings

Since I am in procrastination mode, here is a compilation of the Minnesotans taken in the 2019 NHL draft. I also included their Central Scouting midterm and final rankings among North American skaters (or goalies, for Haider), along with college commitments. Bobby Brink, No. 34, Philadelphia Flyers ...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

The MSHSL’s rules are very specific about transfers and eligibility. The one that families seem to manipulate is the residence change rule. The rule applies to all schools in the state – private, public and even those not in the league (SSM). A kid’s whole family has to move to a residence outside ...

Hearing from a good source that Motzko is indeed going back to SCC. Motzko, the next Kittleson? I hope not, that is sad stuff to watch. GB I’m not sure why that would be sad. We are talking about a kid who was forced to move away from his high school due to a parent changing jobs. Being uprooted li...

IMO - The Braccini kids will 100% both be back. Jake (and Tyler) could very well do before and afters. Dad Bryan is very protective (I don’t say that in a negative way as he is a USHL alum) in what they do. When Jake was the 6th overall pick by then Bloomington in the phase 1 draft a few years ago ...
