Jerseys
It might help if the members know which sweaters your looking for. Many schools with reference to American Indians have recently changed their mascot so it might help to know the timeline as well, it matters. I personally don't have any but would be interested in seeing the collection when you post ...

RE: Pokecheck
I'm sure i'll get hammered for this because some coaches in the selects process won't appreciate my comments, but. I've been coaching in the select 15's for a couple of years and have made this observation. It seems to me that winning has become more important than showcasing the players for a few. ...

RE: blueliner10
I have Jared Festler on the select 15 squad if that's who your talking about. He's an excellent hockey player! Possibly the best forward on the District 15 squad.

Cupped
shooter, funny but not funny. Last year I had a kid skate out to the point and block a shot at point blank range that caught him directly in the package. He got up and skated to the bench ( I don't know how) and just about passed out. His face was as pale as i've ever seen on a living body. I quickl...

ol' timers
I wear a half shield in senior league but it has nothing to do with guys being hacks (although there are a few out there). Some guys play for fun but aren't very good skaters so they'll lose their balance and launch a pretty good tomahawk at head level on accident. My shield has saved my eyes so man...

Coaches
I agree with jr and centerman in that the coaches did a great job.

Personally, I played for coaches Aus and Tolk and at the time due to my immaturity didn't care for what they were teaching me. I now find myself using some of the tools they taught me with the bantams I coach. That's the best...

don't forget-
JR is right about the past of the program and the future. A couple of players people tend to forget are Montgomery and Vermeullen. In my opinion these two along with Flynn made up an excellent 2nd line this year that could skate with most 1st lines.

I hope RJ stays as well. He's very intellig...

Facemasks?
Question, does this include facemask or is it just the helmet itself? I can understand why they would do this (insurance) but would like it to be the decision of the individual.

Helmets
I don't think helmets should be required. We all know and understand the risk involved. Pay attention as to what is going on during practice and it shouldn't be a problem. Some of us still like to muck it up in practice and assume full responsibility.

I've seen some coaches wear helmets and t...

Hill Murray
How many remember Hill Murray in sections about 6-7 yrs. ago. They used to hog pile at their bench, some guys got pretty good air. I don't care for Hill personally but when I saw that I liked it. TEAM celebrations are great.

It's not disrespectful, if you don't like it then don't let 'em scor...

There's a guy in Brainerd that is second to none. He does pre-game, intermission, and post game interviews with the coaches. He's a walking stat book and i'm sure he knows more about the other teams stats than they do themselves. It's quite impressive. Sorry, i'm not sure what his name is but I woul...

Old School
I agree! One tourney, one champion. Class A Champions is alot like a consolation championship in a youth tourney, all you are is the winner of the losers. People in WADENA are talking about going to state! When will the insanity stop? Take some pride in your programs and build them to compete with a...

Underachieve
I have family ties in that program so don't think i'm disrespecting the Eagles. But those of you who played for Chris and Tom sound off here. As a coach I knew we had to play our best game to beat the Eagles whether they had a good team or not. If you guys weren't that skilled then they made overach...

Where's EP in this?
EP's youth program has been solid for the last decade but until recent years we haven't heard from their high school squad. After this year you can say what you want about the Cougars but is the EP high school program eligible for this award?

Re: Pucklover7
Ras took alot of pride in knowing I as a head coach could only be as good as my assistants. He worked very hard and took on more responsibilities every year. After a few years we had close to the same amount of responsibilities so in turn having the equivelant of two-head coaches. I now know how val...

What criteria determines the best?
I've been fortunate to have been the head coach of the first two Centennial bantam teams to win state titles but that doesn't make me the best coach or even a good coach simply because those teams were stacked with talent. All we had to do was turn the key and enjoy the ride. Since then i've moved a...
