Another reason that USHL and NAHL maybe going after midget AAA is the number of games played in comparison to minnesota high school hockey. Minnesota H.S. only plays 25-31 games top, where as midget AAA will play 50-60 games. This would give a junior scout a better perspective on a players ability o...

And Hartmen doesn't have much coaching experience to speak of, but he was helping with the Granite City Lumberjacks this past season.

Clafton was an assistant coach at Hibbing last year and also was a coach on their section select 16 team. It seems that he has at least some coaching experience and on top of that, it would be fun for the players to have a fresh young coach that played at high level to be coaching them.
