I don't know if you're into this... But you might want to play with the shutter speed and moving the camera to get the blurred effect. I'm sure you've probably already done it, but it might give some of your shots a more dynamic effect.

I particularly like the last two. They both have good color contrast, (Everson on No. 14 because of the solid black jersey in a sea of white), and (Gaarder kind of highlighted against the burnsville player behind him with darker ice). I think the Gaarder shot looks more active. But I like the Everso...

That hit was unbelievable at the game. But supposedly not as good on video. The still shots capture it pretty well though.
