Re: Eden Prairie the real deal
GHS is right that coaches have a lot going on to be doing any recruiting. But it might not take all that much of their time.

What is it called when you're at a rink in the offseason, at NDP or CODP or "your name here" off season league game and a coach who is not from your school co...

And what if GHS had remained at B-K last year. The 5 girls who left B-K - would they have stayed?

Academic question but there are "what if's" on this forum all the time....

Re: ep unbeaten..
2006-07 - no telling how good EP will be. Of course that might depend on how many new kids "show up" on their doorstep next season...

Re: Strib?
I would also like to see penalty data - at least the number on each team, which period, maybe the times. Having all the data would be all the better - which players to look out for, maybe which players might be susceptible to being drawn into penalties. <wink>

I suspect in this era of politic...

Re: Remembering the "Others"
Right on, GHS!

A terrific way for any of us (I'm not a player or coach, just a parent) to contribute is to volunteer for your local association or school - teams or otherwise. The same argument holds for the un-sung volunteers as for the front page coaches and "star" players!
<b...

Re: MN High School Girls on WCHA Teams
I was at both the Friday & Saturday games. The main thing to be worked on for the Gophers is spelling:

T E A M

Note there is no "I." They have a great collection of individuals and they played that way too much, especially Saturday against the better opponent.

Ye...

Re: MN Hockey approves "Before & After" U19
So this forum has been curiously quiet on this topic. What's happening? Is this stuff moving forward? At an impasse? No news means...what? Dozens of teams? Several? None?

As for GHS's message about high school coaches being USA Hockey certified - I don't believe it's a requirement for high sc...

Re: Playing w/the Boys...
Sorry (agreeing with GHS but not with the previous poster) but Darwitz, Wendell & Potter (sorry to rain on the Gopher parade) and a VERY few others - they are not "freaks" of any kind. They are highly dedicated athletes with "six sigma" talent.

If you don't know what t...

Re: MN Hockey approves "Before & After" U19
I've heard some rather bizarre things on the (gasp) "verbal" grapevine re: the GEL B&A U19 for this year:

* teams being registered at the very last minute (like getting to the MN Hockey registrar late in the evening of the deadline day)

* coaches not being MN Hockey certi...

Stevens Point, WI tournament?
Does anybody know the link to, or the results of the tournament recently (last weekend?) in Stevens Point, WI? I have been led to believe that at least the Walser cadre was there. Any other MN teams?

Was this not a "warm up" for the Before & After thing? Or perhaps "eligib...

Re: MN Hockey approves "Before & After" U19
Will the new "GEL B&A" (whether the "after" stays or not) be pre-set teams, like Walser? Or will it be like the Boys EL with tryouts for a large number of players from all over the state (and Wisconsin too if I remember right) and a draft into new teams every fall?

The...
