Re: Coaching Openings 2015-16

And so it begins! Offical off-season. I did this last year and will do it again. I'll update the new coach when they are announced: 1) Hastings---- 2) Mounds View---- 3) Orono----Not sure if the coach came back? I think this is open as well. What? Where is MV's coach going? Running away! I've heard...

Woah, all personal and defensive about comments made about an A/AA comment on this thread. Really its about the teams that have to deal with the sandbagging. Non-incorporated small "A" associations, and the associations that have both AA and A. They are the ones that used to be B1 and are...

OG, not you. Why the agitation? Why not state your point and move on? Don't be a dick. Did I pick on you in high school or something?

Irish brings up some touching, but contradicting points. 30 wins in a Bantam A season makes them feel like a winner and that they compete. Then claims that MVI would split a mythical 10 game series with Bantam AA team (Forest Lake). One thing contradicts the other. Does MVI compete with AA teams or...

Tarten goes to state every year w/this pee-wee group @ A. They are a AA highj school. I don't think that is why Mn hockey came up w/this program. I think it was meant to allow the North Branches of the world the chance to go to state.MV/I two AA's that is crazy. I doubt the Mn hockey board sat down...

Here we again MN Hockey letting two AA associations merg and play down at the A level, why? Irondale and St. Francis did that last season at the Bantam A level. Both were AA associations and almost went to the Bantam A state tournament. They should be playing AA hockey. Why have A and AA hockey whe...

Missing in action.

Whatever happened to Team Combat Hockey/Hockey Shape? They were very visible a year or so ago, but seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Anyone have any idea what happened?

Mr. G. I didn't know there were reasons. Maybe I didn't read it thoroughly. I just thought it asked for how many left. They've had their share. Aren't you on the verge of losing another one in a few weeks -- possibly? There's all kinds of reasons. All valid. If things go well, we'll bump into you gu...

I got two Bantams to WBL/one pee-wee WBL/one Pee-wee goalie/Cenn. Help me out w/the rest. Thanks I have to pipe in. I guess you could include my kid in the exodus. Don't know who else. Last year we had a kid that couldn't make the FL A team, but has done well at a good association. We had another k...

Re: Goons

We definitely DO NOT need another governing body for summer hockey. That is what has led to the popularity of summer hockey...not having to deal with the governing state and district bodies and many of their silly rules and knee jerk reactions to issues. These tournaments have rules and consequence...

So in this system, how does MNH ensure that each association is managed in a manner that is consistent with the best developmental practices? What recourse does MNH have to admonish associations failing to provide its constituents a proper product? Examples of where this has occurred? With little e...

U Did not realize you could ever get a concussion. The chairman of the Mn Hockey Audit Comm is Elliott 70 and he has been preaching for years what I stated above. Because of some board members in D2 everybody else suffers and a number of people should resign. Indigo audits have been part of other D...

Term limits would go a fair distance toward preventing this type of crime - and others. I think our fees should go up state wide over the next couple years, while detailed, independent audits are done at all 12 districts and MH. Pertaining to increased dues. No thank you. D2 already has plenty to g...

Please answer me as no one at our association will. What percentage of our dues go to D2? What is fair amount to keep as a balance? 20k? It's youth hockey. We've clearly been overcharged. Then to listen to them dictate makes it that much worse. How about, we're sorry. Your rates are dropping. What a...

We caught wind of this in October and did not report because D2 expected to be reimbursed. We felt that it was a non-story and would be more of a smear. It looks like the money never got paid back. Interesting. TS So you thought this was a non-stroy but coaches taping other teams was a story ? Repo...

Quite the unfortunate story. A case of the fox minding the hen house. Hopefully some significant jail time for the offender. Not much dirtier than stealing from youth sports organizations. Most Districts audit their books every year or two and should get a regular treasurer report at every monthly ...

Even now, this was posted on Monday and there's been moderate interest. If it doesn't involve someone's kid on the ice and how their team is doing, not that big of a deal. My son skates in an association in D2. How will that affect us? Why and how does D2 have an EXTRA 400K laying around? Let's open...

I guess my first thought was, if that much money was taken without anyone noticing, how much money is there? My second thought was, how much money does a youth sports organization need? These kind of numbers almost make it sound like D2 is the national headquarters. Any business would have to be pre...
