Re: Bantams still a good predictor of HS success
Apologies for the dumb question here but can someone explain why the talent time and time again chooses to go to Hill/CDH and not Woodbury/Eastridge? Woodbury public schools aren't bad by any means and I've always heard good things about Coach Vogel so what's the deal? Obviously hard to deny the tr...

Re: Official 2026 State Seeds
This year’s tournament has as much intrigue on Thursday in AA as I can remember. I think the top 4 seeds are spot on and are all obviously favored in their quarterfinal final matchups. Rightfully so they will most likely end up playing on Friday night. But…………. 1 seed Minnetonka draws arguably the ...

Re: Section 4AA final
Not sure WBL won a draw all night. #9 lost every face-off and seemed a little disinterested at the dot. This wasn't WBLs most talented group by any means, but was the worst loss ( especially the way the game went) with the new coaching staff. Gentry played well, but let's not get carried away actin...

I give Gentry credit. They did what they needed to do. It was a down year talent-wise for this section, but they got the job done.

People hate us, but at least we sell tickets. You make stupid comments like you did this morning then you wonder why people don’t like you. And I want to plenty of Hill games this year, just about every school out draws yours. Oh, and by the way, the arena is sold out. So I guess other schools sell...

Need some crow to eat? Not at all. Did you read my analysis of the game? DId I not give Gentry credit? Overall it's a down year for this section, amiright? Bears around 500, Stillwater sputtering at the end just like East Ridge, and an average Hill team. It's entirely possible Gentry will be playin...

2:40, and tickets are still available. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. We always hear this, "I'd like too see some new teams!" Novelty doesn't sell tickets, hatred does. Or if you prefer, passion.

Re: 4AA semi-finals
That stretches the definition of 'upset', to put it mildly. It's a near even money game in most years, and even more so this year. No one who paid attention to Stillwater down the stretch was surprised by this in the least.north_bear wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 7:11 am WBL beats Stillwater in OT. Seems like another year of upsets.

Re: 4AA semi-finals
Gentry is always a bit of an enigma due to scheduling. They seemed to be coming together and playing well to end the year. They beat the pants off Hill last night. They were faster to pucks, won almost every contested puck, were far bigger hitters, and were way more aggressive - especially on penal...

Re: 3AA Final - #1 Rosemount vs. #2 St. Thomas Academy
I like the chances of whomever plays Rosemount in the first round, especially if its a team with a lot of experience being there. So, same theory that you had for the section final? Hey, a stopped (old school mechanical) clock is right twice a day. 8) I've seen it many times. This was Rosemount's m...

The way the Rosemount kids and the players were beating on the glass when the game ended there, that might be the last time The Andy hosts a section game. You get to play in a brand new $183M arena, you might want to act like you want to come back.

Re: 6AA Semifinal #2
I'm not surprised at the result; I am shocked by the score. We've seen this plenty of times, where an up and coming program has these growing pains. Reaching #1 at the end of the season, that's pretty head stuff for team like this; it's easy to look past your next opponent to the one after that. Onc...

Re: 2026 Official AA & A Seedings
I love that 3AA is playing at the new UST arena but boy, playing their section final on Tuesday the 24th means the winner will have quite the long layoff. I don't even really like Wednesday section finals. Wish they all would take place Thursday-Saturday. Saturday could be a smaller version of semi...

Re: Changes to State Tournament Schedule
Personally, I will miss that possibility of a #2 with little to no tournament experience possibly getting upset. It worked out for Hill when they played Maple Grove a few years back. But on the whole, I see the wisdom of it. I had wondered why the #1 got some much less rest than #2. It makes a diffe...
