Early Predictions for 2012-2013 Minnesota division of MJHL
It's hard to believe it, but the 2012-2013 MJHL season is fast approaching. Lots of new faces in the league this year, including 8 transfer teams courtesy of the GLJHL. As for the Minnesota division, anyone have any early predictions as to how the standings will pan out this season? It seems like th...

Re: ?
Tiger, and you can fix world problems with what happens in your household, right? LOTS of different circunstances for LOTS of different families.
Yes, but we are simply talking about transfering for solely the reason of playing hockey. I still dont think that's w...

Well in this situation the transfer would make a lot of sense, but my position still stands. In almost every situation it is best to stay in the current high school you are attending rather than switching for hockey. Yes, in some cases there may be other factors influencing the situation, but if we ...

I seriously doubt there are many kids who would want to switch schools simply because of hockey, especially if they have been in the same school district since they were a kid. It's ridiculous to think that that kid isn't going to want to stay in school with the kids he has grown up going to school ...

I have to agree with the idea that leaving one high school specifically for the reason of playing hockey is flat out ridiculous. There is so much more that is important about high school besides hockey. friends, educational experience, school dances, etc. are all an important part of high school reg...

you're playing kids who are future nahl/ushl/d1 players, they are also the kids you will be playing with against this upcoming season. to pass on that to play in a league like the mnjhl is downright stupid. not to mention these kids will not have weekend fun considering they are traveling all the ti...

If you'll note the original question was which league is better preparation for the high school season. I think it's pretty obvious it's elite d. keep in mind we're talking about the high school season. the mnjhl has it's place but like said earlier it's comparing apples to oranges. they serve a dif...

Re: D
So, you think an Elite D squad (ages 14-16) would defeat an MNJHL team (18-21)? What about practices? don''t MNJHL teams practices far more?
Absolutely the elite d squad would win. They practice about the same amount, but teams in the mnjhl practice at 6 AM or 7 AM ev...

definitely elite d. Playing against future ushl/college hockey players of your age group is much better than playing against players out of high school who have no offers of any kind, and are most likely at the end of the road for their hockey careers. Plus elite d. is just flat out better hockey, a...

Any arena have summer open hockey?
Does anyone know of any metro ice arenas that are offering summer open ice? By open ice I mean ice that is something like shinny or just show up, and pay. Any response is much appreciated.

clutterbuck-please dont. We are already at a disadvantage with the other forum being closed. Cant we all just agree to use this forum. It has for a long time been the second most established MNJHL forum available, let's keep it that way and not create competitive forums (less people will post if it ...

Actually I was at the game and the lights' outplayed the hawks' in the first two periods (this is coming from a very unbiased source). Also, yes the missed call in the 3rd period was a goal. Ref was out of position and clearly missed the call. I would know, I was right behind the net when it happene...
