Influx of kids to Osseo HS Program
Rumor has it that Osseo will have twice the number of kids at tryouts this year compared to last. A handfull are from Park Center (due to that program being shutdown), but I would have to assume that most of the others are Maple Grove 10th graders who are deciding to open enroll to Osseo. Does anyon...

The notion of all the potential problems when the AA team plays the A team from the same association, isn't any different than when the upper B1 team from OMGHA or Wayzata played the other (lower) B1 teams. Sure there might be an upset every now an then, sure a player on the lower team may really im...

When you talk about OMGHA (Osseo-Maple Grove), you also need to throw in NMYHA (North Metro), which is Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Fridley and Columbia Heights (I think). North Metro barely fielded 2 teams at each boys level the past two years (no A teams). Only one (small) team at each of the g...

Multiple BA teams
Is it the assumption that no associations will field two balanced Bantam A teams next year? What about AA and A? Can someone "in the know" from Wayzata comment on how experiment with two balanced PWA teams was viewed this year? Will they do it again next year? Will it get expanded up to th...

Someone had said that each associations ranks their best 1997 born players and then nominates their top players, based on how many slots they get allocated, usually based on Bantam A record. So if an association does not have a Bantam A team, the Bantam B1 coach can not nominate anyone for HP 15? Ca...

My kid is a 1st year Bantam in D3, but not on either Wayzata or OMGHA, so I have no insight into what the 1st vs. 2nd year make up is of each team. I would assume that it is biased towards the 2nd year kids, but I'm sure there are some very talented (and big) 1st year skaters, particularly on the B1...

Wayzata Blue is really the undisputed #1 BB1 team in the state, and OMGHA Crimson is probably the undisputed #2 BB1 team. That being said, anything can happen in 1 game. If they do end up the #1 and #2 seed from this region, would they not meet until the final game at State, or would they meet up in...

Thanks for the posting of the Burnsville team's recent scores. I guess if I had thought about it, I could have looked them up myself :) My kid's team played Burnsville once and I wasn't really all that impressed. They beat us, but we played them really tough. Compare that with the trouncings we've t...

I was really looking forward to a Wayzata-Blue vs. OMGHA-Crimson matchup in the Championship game of the Edina Tournament, but Crimson stubbed their toe against Woodbury Black in the semifinals (after already beating them 4-2 in pool play). Credit to Woodbury Black, but also credit to Wayzata-Blue ~...

jBlaze3k - That's tricky... One game does not a ranking make, but what is a better comparison than a head-to-head match up? In the end, that is what will matter. I'm not saying that Rosemount should have been above Champlin, but I think Champlin climbed in the rankings (after what I would consider a...

LPH Bantam B1 rankings
For those of you who are LPH rankers for the Bantam B1 level, help me understand something. This has to do with Champlin being ranked and Rosemount not being ranked. And no, my kid doesn't play for either team, or even in either association, but he has played them both! Champlin is ranked #12 every ...

That is good to know that D3 will get to send 3 teams on to Regionals. Thanks for that info. North Metro and OMGHA Crimson play on Friday, so we'll know a little more on if the Pirates can hang with the big boys after that game. It is a little frustrating when an associations without an A team comes...

D3 Bantam B1 predictions
I know that Bantam A gets all of the attention, but I just wanted to throw out some thoughts and questions on the B1 level, specifically for District 3. I think the favorites would have to be considers OMGHA Crimson and Wayzata Blue, as the upper B1 teams from each of those monster associations. (My...
