I would agree that it was a bad call and should not have been a 5 and 10 19 seconds into the game. Clearly was not checking from behind. But there is no reason for a parent to go to ref's locker room after a period to confront them no matter how much u disagree with the call. What was this whole su...

Re: Movie Premiere: Eat, Sleep Hockey

Received this press release today from a group that produced a documentary about two hockey crazed families in the north metro. The trailer looks pretty cool. The premier is tonight. I have no more details than what you read in the release. As in, when can it be viewed outside of tonight. I literal...

I know my association gets the money from pull tabs and selling candy, but I've heard some associations make it a fee paid out over the months of the season.

I've heard the goalie for that CR team is one of the best in the state. I can only assume he was playing in this one and had his game going.

Anyone seen this kid?

So kids from say North Branch/Chisago want to play AA they can skate in FL w/o a waiver ? Is that correct??? Or do they still have to open enroll ??? This whole A/AA split is a joke. D10 took it on to make the little guys feel good about playing at the A level even tho teams like Mora/Coon Rapids/C...

Re: Are Rule Changes for the Better, or Worse?

Here is an article asking some good questions. http://minnesotahockeyreport.com/2012/02/10/are-rule-changes-for-the-better-or-worse/ This was a perfect article to explain how flawed the rules are in MN hockey and with USA hockey. Look at just 2 of his points -you cut pen min from 2 to 1:30 for some...

-- Not only bring checking back at the peewee level, introduce at the squirt level. The sooner kids are taught not only how to deliver a hit, but how to protect themsleves along the wall, the better off they will be. -- Get rid of the automatic offiside rule, does nothing but slow the game down. Re: Change to Minnesota Hockey

If you could change one thing, what would it be: Fill in the blank _______________________________________________ #1 Start checking at the squirt level - and have it in A levels only going up. #2 Get rid of B1/B2 C1/C2 levels and don't have A/AA - just play A B C #3 Get rid of instant offsides for...

In our rush to dislike Bo, we're losing sight of the fact that he is largely correct. Within the metro, there are certainly some talented kids that stay and play for their local high schools, but there are also a load of them that choose the educational experience of a private school, or the educat...
