Re: Mask recommendations for high school hockey
So I just saw that MN Hockey approved the Bauer Concept 3 Shield with the splash guard. Does this mean that it would be approved under the MSHSL rules as well?

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
From the MDH website: Indoor events and entertainment: Capacity: 6 feet of social distance, max 25%, maximum of 250 people in an area. I think all they are asking for is some consistency in the requirements. MDH says 250 and the MSHSL says zero. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion as to if thi...

Any idea when we will know if this is a 100% go or not?

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
FL is a school owned property and they did let 2 fans per player in the door for the summer STP tournament. So is it left up to the individual facility, school property or not, to allow fans? Or, does the MSHSL have blanket authority over that for school owned properties? I for one really hope the M...

Re: Hockey is on
Here's to hoping the season is as normal as possible. I'm sure it will be modified however and I like the coaches associations first proposal for 24 games with home and home games vs the same opponent in a week. It addresses some potential issues and is close as I think we're going to get to a full ...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
Thanks WOM. It will be interesting to see how this is all handled. If the HS coaches have any say at all in the roster make up, or if there is just a "Varsity" U19 and everyone else plays J Gold. You would think there would almost have to be an "A" and "B" since I think...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
Trying to get back to the original subject of this post again, does anyone have an outline of what a proposed U19 season would look like? My understanding is that the U19 teams would be separate from the traditional association J Gold teams and a potential way for V/JV teams to play a bridge season ...

Re: Summer Scrimnages
If anyone has a schedule for this, I would appreciate seeing it. I also have to plead ignorance: Will fans be allowed to attend? For the games at Braemar they are only allowing 1 fan per player or coach and the kids have to come to the rink dressed or dress in the parking lot. For the games at St. ...

Almost, the FL-DM game went to OT with a 3-2 FL win. Shots were 51-19 in favor of FL.

Re: AA Rankings for 12/8/19
Great job with the rankings Karl. I would agree that FL probably doesn't belong in the rankings at this point. That win against Elk River was a good one for them but ER has struggled and the come back win against East Ridge showed some heart. The most impressive thing about FL so far is that they ar...

Agree with Nobody, these kids have had a string of parent coaches all the way up. All of these coaches are well meaning and each has their strong points but every year its a different coach and there is absolutely no consistency. I understand that they would have new coaches between levels but FL ha...

[Their PeeWee AA team was 9-27-11 last year. 4 of those wins were against A teams. Bantam AA was 12-33-7. 6 of those wins were against A teams. Looks like 5 Squirt teams, but 3 of them were C teams. Enrollment doesn't mean anything in Hockey anymore.] Can't argue the records of those teams but MWS h...

Didn't Roseville field a AA Bantam team last year even though they only had 3 Bantam teams total? Think they even won a tourney. Same with St. Paul? In D2 every association fielded a AA Bantam team except MVI. This will only serve to continue to drive out the kids that want to compete at the top lev...

[Rosemount is very proud (see article) that they are growing and nearly a top 10 association in terms of numbers. They have chosen to skip A teams and go AA then have only one B1 at peewee and Bantams. No surprise their B1 teams are dominating….because they are actually A teams playing at B. The onl...

Whiner-Why be an ass? Can't a kid play in one of these tourneys because he loves to play? Don't parents have the right to let their kids play in a tourney without someone assuming that they think their kid is the next Crosby? Not every hockey parent is insane or an idiot. There are a lot of us that ...
