This is a different topic though. i know your rarely see this but it works. all American goalie for the Sioux ran this with the high school team he coached. who knows a defensive zone better than a goalie? wings covering ...

When have you seen a crappy team able to play a high center? Typically the center is needed in the corners to support the crappy D. If you have strong, quick Def that can handle the puck, then you can run a high center, IMO. :D[/quote] how is a center supposed to get from corner to corner especially...

I think within this topic you can see why communities offer the levels they do, because some people want it. Most offer different levels the part I would like someone to explain to me on this aspect, If you don't feel your son can compete or the Team can compete at the A level AND your association ...

you should be happy i put some common sense in your mouth. playing at a level in which you are not competitive is not going to make you better. hockeytalk your right dumping the puck isnt a bad play if it has purpose behind it. your playing against a buzz saw team that has more skill than you i woul...

aren't you required to play each team in your district twice that's half your games right there your right tho if the teams aren't good enough to play at that level than they shouldn't be playing at that level. kids get discouraged and lose interest when they get their buts handed to them at the sam...

lol yeah so they work their but off to make the b1 team if there even is 2 teams at a level. its not for the betterment of the program when kids quit and lose their passion for the game because they never get the opportunity to play in a competitive one. you said how do expect these kids to be a rea...

Everyone has an opinion and that is mine. Right or wrong? Whatever. how about this question: if a team is always playing b hockey , that is all they know, now they go to hs and are expected to jump in to all of a sudden playing varsity? Yes, having success is important, but its about preparation to...

how would you consider an association that get beats by double digits because they play at the wrong level competitive? because of that kids lose interest and quit. its not about one kid being able to touch the puck its about the team being able to make plays to one another. these games turn into mo...

why have competitive hockey if its not going to be competitive? is it so your kid can play at the highest level possible because you think he or she is going to be a superstar one day? Isn't it all just for fun? what are the incentives here? If the incentive is to make it as much fun as possible for...

Re: small towns who dont have the talent wanting to play a?
I understand what you are saying. However, where does that end? Motivation to get better is missing when you continue to lower your standards for success. What happens if you switch to B and can only win a few games? Do you then switch to C? What if at C level you only win half your games? At some p...

right when the gophers started to get momentum in the 2nd haula gave it right back to BC when he decided to punch the glass after hansen failed to capatilze on haulas blind pass to him in front of the net for a point blank chance. 30 seconds later BC scored when you show frustration like that you l...
