Thoughts on Marshall? They were a preseason top 5, have lost to Rapids, BSM, a good WI team, and 8 different Class A teams, the lowest of which was ranked #10 who they lost to by 1 goal. Not a top 10 Class A team, sure, but are there 5 other teams better than them to rank above them? Marshall being...

Tough day for this section on Hockey Day. The potential top 3 seeds all lost in running time, and only one team of the nine (actually 8 since one didn't play today) won today and that was Greenway, who played a fellow section opponent. Denfeld lost to CEC 8-2. Marshall lost to Rochester Lourdes 7-0...

Karl, I would have kept East at #5 and Eagan at #6 - as your last weeks ranking had them. I think the East loss to Denfeld was almost identical to the Eagan loss to Eastview. Both Eagan and East essentially dominated their opponents with shots on goal, yet just couldn't finish. Combined with East's...

Re: Class A Rankings 1-6-13
Highly unlikely given that of Denfeld's 11 wins this year the only teams they have defeated by more than 2 are Greenway, Cambridge, Rosemount, and Detroit Lakes. All their games against ranked teams are losses or basically one goal wins (a couple had empty netters). Never mind the fact that Little ...

Re: Class A Rankings 1-6-13
I have to give you props, hshockeywatcher, for this week's rankings. I pretty much agree with most of it. Virginia (3-9-1) A very solid case could be made for having this team with 9 losses actually ranked as all of their losses are either to AA teams or teams ranked in my top 12, as well as tying ...

Denfeld played well and with Thompson in net anything is possible! There was even a point in the second period when Denfeld had good pressure on East for about 5-7 minutes. Congrats to them. Time to show these guys a little respect going forward. As for East, that first line is very good and just ne...

Talarico for Denfeld is really good. They are bigger than Marshall and play a much more physical game. As we have seen this year already, Marshall struggles against bigger teams. Agreed about Talarico. How did he not make the Elite League? If he did indeed get passed over, that is a crime. I'd take...
