Age groupings AAA
Having coached for three AAA organizations, I have never seen the younger team beat the older team (it does happen on occasion). There are mixed aged teams, but you can only play up, not down. Most of the smaller organizations play against the younger teams, because of travel issues. If you look at ...

Does anyone know?
Since MN Made seems to be a bit of a sore issue with some, does anyone know how many of these kids were trained or played at MN Made? (I really don't know). Edina #1 Bantam AA team Edina #3 Bantam A team Edina #3 Bantam B1 team Edina #1 Pee Wee AA team Edina #1 Pee Wee A team Edina #1 Pee Wee B1 tea...

Article
Thanks for the link and article. Well done. I agree with the coaches, the best thing about all of this was hockey players from differents parts of the US, sitting down, having pizza, and talking hockey. That's what it's all about.

Age
You are right, Hurley will be 18 on 9/15 which is the cutoff for the draft. Hope he still goes in the first round, but his stock is dropping a bit in the last 6 games. Good kid as well.

You can't stand it
Hope to run out of ink soon? Can't take a good discussion? No facts, except one team knocked out of the State's? Do you coach, play, lived anywhere else? I don't drink the MN Made Kool Aide. Not saying it is even good for hockey. Bernie, wants AAA in MN, and he will get it. Last year's NHL draft. Ho...

Held back a grade
I never said they were held back a grade. They start a year later!!!!!!! They should be in school at the age of 5. They are not. They start at the age of 6 or turn 6 that school year. Yikes, I thought this was a hockey forum? There are no Shattuck players that turned 19 last calendar year!!!! Can't ...

Edina HS Hockey
Connor Hurley, the best player by far for Edina HS, is from Eagan. Munson is from Apple Valley. Anders Lee transferred from St Thomas and they introduced the Anders Lee rule to MN sports. But you probably knew that. The Edina hockey association is loaded with kids from outside of Edina, that go to s...

Facts Facts Facts
There are over 1,600 kids going to Edina schools from outside the district. Edina schools are easy to get into, except a couple grade schools. Check the birthdate on most HS Seniors in MN playing hockey. Do you think they will turn 18 or 19 this year? Why do you think Hopkins basketball is so good a...

SKMN love MN Made
Don't love it, but it is making a huge difference:) No denying that all of a sudden there are two super teams in MN. both from Edina, both from MN Made! No denying that they are kicking everybody's ass! Must be the vitamins they are eating, or Edina has discovered a new super water source. These tea...

Age does matter
Birth year counts in every sport except HS! Baseball, Basketball, ETC. all use Birthyears. Saying that someone is a 6th or 7th grader doesn't mean anything. Most MN hockey players are held back a year before they start school, based on the age classifications for MN hockey. Kids start school around ...

Where do the Edina kids come from?
Again, everyone is assuming the Edina kids come from Edina. Why do you think Bloomington, Richfield, Hopkins, MN SW, and St Louis Park programs are so weak, and they are right next to Edina. What this tourney showed is the Edina MN Made AAA model against Detroit. And yes, the demographics are very d...

One more thing
One last thing. How many MN players were on the 1980 Olympic team? Pretty much dominated the roster. How many MN players on the US U18 team? 4 out of 30. I am very much in favor of Association hockey and HS hockey over AAA travel teams. Why do you think MN is the only State, that still uses the old ...

what a reach
Calling people morons on this post is a sign you have some issues and are a little insecure about your hockey knowledge. Keep an eye on the first rounders in the NHL. Some of the MN kids come from Shattucks's as well. Edina has kids for outside Edina playing, due to open enrollment. Do you really th...

AAA
Having coached for Atlanta AAA, Cincinnati AAA, and Edina, I feel that I am qualified to answer some of these questions. Edina, has the best association program in the country. The current pee wee AA team is really a product of MN Made though and not Edina. The Detroit Little Caesers league is the b...
