Re: Section Changes
I know there are likely a lot of factors behind the scenes that I’m unaware of, but I gotta say I think I did a pretty darn good job with the AA sections compared to what the league came up with. Maybe they’d like to hire me on as a consultant. I did win my middle school’s geography bee in 8th grade...

Re: Section Changes
Working on an offseason project that has me looking into program histories. Paging Duluth area hockey minds: Why is Marshall in AA? They were a consistent threat to make state in class A. They have never made it past the semis in 7AA. A couple decent seasons lately but nothing to write home about. A...

Re: Section Changes
Yeah, but then 7AA is REALLY weak. It does make sense to have both sections have 8 teams though.

Re: Section Changes
Had a little fun with this. Based on Class A Guy's most recent AA teams. 1AA (8 teams. Rosemount moves in.) Rochester Mayo Rochester Century/JM Owatonna New Prague Lakeville South Lakeville North Farmington Rosemount 2AA (8 teams. Minnetonka moves out. Edina moves in.) Prior Lake Shakopee Bloomingto...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
Feels like Edina should be #1 considering they’re returning their top 11 scorers and starting goalie from a team that finished third and had the eventual champions on the ropes for 50 minutes. That’s a fair argument, Crimson. Moorhead has enough coming back (and coming in from bantams) that I’m giv...

Never too early for rankings…
…or maybe I need to seek professional help. This is a rough somewhat educated guess to get me thinking about next year. I know Westy would have a comment or two for me. Miss you, buddy. 1. Moorhead 2. Edina 3. Hill-Murray 4. Holy Angels 5. Shakopee 6. Andover (assuming KJ stays which, who knows) 7. ...

Re: AA Title Game- #1 Moorhead vs #2 Stillwater
Edina showed Stillwater the formula for beating the Spuds - play physically and make them go station to station. They are absolutely not doing it. The lack of effort by Stillwater’s forwards on the back check is astonishing.

Re: AA SF Game- #1 Moorhead vs #5 Edina
One of the best regulation tourney games ever? Proud of the Hornets. Reminds me a bit of their state title game 2 years ago against Tonka. They had to play nearly perfect to win and they were an inch/second or two away. Styles make fights tomorrow night. Big, bruising Stillwater against the dynamic ...

If it is Gorg for AA, I think it’s a great way to pass the baton from Louie. He is prepared, knowledgeable, kind, well-respected and has a great sense of humor. A true ambassador to the game.

Great job as always, Karl! If it were up to me St. Thomas would be #2 and Hill #3. I think the Cadets had the better weekend in Prior Lake and have a better overall resume.

Was thinking that, even though they didn’t win it all. Otherwise maybe the 2019 team or the 2014 team that smoked Lakeville North in the state title game.

Re: Games Saturday 12-28-2024
I was a Spud doubter at beginning of year . After watching how they demolished top teams on the road this week , they get my vote to leapfrog others and go straight to number one for now Im trying to remember the last time I've seen a team with this level of speed, skill , PP, PK, odd man rushes , ...

Re: Games Saturday 12-28-2024
Andover-Shakopee is an interesting one today. The Huskies have two nice wins in a row while the wheels are looking a bit wobbly in Saber Country. This Shakopee team reminds me of the Alex Bump Prior Lake team that brought back a loaded roster only to slog through the regular season. That team ended ...

2-1 final. Really fast, even, well-played game. Edina fanned on a ton of Grade A chances.

5-0 Moorhead in the 3rd and it could be worse. Spuds making quite the statement so far in Prior Lake.

Final
CDH 3 (EN)
EP 1
Cretin definitely the more talented team but a bit undisciplined and relied on creating chances off the rush. Thought Eden Prairie did a nice job pushing them around on the forecheck but scoring goals seems like pulling teeth for the Eagles right now.

Re: Games Thursday 12-26-24
Anyone know how the picked the games being played for the Tradition Holiday Invitational? Hill has a soft draw compared to every other team in the tourney. Is this because they didn't want Hill playing STA & Edina 3 times this year (we're already scheduled to play both twice)? Or is it purely a...

Cretin's D struggled to handle EP's heaviness for a while, but the Raiders speed slowly took over as the period went on, drawing two Eagle penalties late in the period.

Re: AA Preseason Ranking
I don’t feel as informed on the player movement market as usual this year. With that said, here’s my stab at a top 10.
1. Edina
2. Rogers
3. Shakopee
4. Benilde
5. Hill-Murray
6. St. Thomas
7. Moorhead
8. Maple Grove
9. Minnetonka
