Somewhat interesting that STMA got the 2-seed in 8AA over Elk River, given the Elks head to head victory. The Knights seem to be getting respect for their wins over Rogers and Edina. Since the victory over the Hornets, which was now over a month ago, STMA is 1-11.

I don’t follow East Grand Forks super closely. Their recent trend seems to be underwhelming regular season results. Obviously last year they turned it on at the right time. What are the reasons for their mediocrity between November and Mid-February? Injuries? Other factors?

I believe Giles coaches them to find where the line is each night and play right to it. The message is you are going to have to buckle up every time you play Edina.

They are one of the most disciplined teams out there once playoffs roll around.

Heck of a win for the Knights, who have now won 8 in a row and have wins over Rogers and Edina under their belts. Will be interesting to see how they navigate the rest of the Lake Conference gauntlet.
