During the tournament broadcast I thought I heard Story is headed to UW River Falls, can anyone else confirm hearing this?

She'd be a heck of a player for that team.

All us old-timers lament about the way things have changed. The outdoor rinks are empty and it's too much checkbook, trophies and 12-month AAA than about hockey-passionate kids. It's the same in Mass as here I guess. But since this is the girls forum, note there's a lot of Minnesota women playing in...

How were they pulled up to JV/V when tryouts aren't until November 2nd? An insightful high school coach will work with the association to manage numbers at both levels for the benefit of both programs. The HS coach will have a pretty good idea of how many (but not always which) players are needed f...

Folks, in large part you are vastly underestimating the power of your home Minnesota Hockey district-- the district director and/or girls director make the final decisions regarding waivers and they generally frown upon anything perceived as "empire building" even if your case is a good on...

Section 4AA reminds me how this was pretty much the case in 2007 when the top four ranked teams in the state all resided in section 6AA, including the #1 Eden Prairie team that was either undefeated or only lost a game, I don't recall for sure. There was a lot of criticism over the fact that four of...

I'll have to disagree. Roseville beat Stillwater twice this year and only lost on a questionable goal in a 3-2 game. Roseville lost 2 games all year! They in my opinion were one of the best teams and would have had a great chance if they had played Stillwater again. I feel the state tournament shou...

Re: There are some surprises, but...

Clearly there are improvements that could be made if anticipated strength of teams was analyzed along with historic last 3-5 year performance. Sections COULD be roughly competitively equal. There will always be some surprises, but not as many as some might think. We will never have a PERFECT system...

If you realign sections to try and get it to be more competitive, how long does that last? All programs around the state, both strong and weak or big or small go through cycles. The powers will not always be powers. Girls hockey at the high school level is still developing and is so at different ra...
