Re: Long way to the TOP !
Hill is far from unbeatable. This season does not have the dominant team. Hill could win but so could four or five other teams.

parents
PAMESH I agree with the parent issue you brought up. The parent problems are actually much worse at the youth levels then at the high school level.

Sure open enrollment isn't a huge problem but it does send a message to win at all costs. Also more people are affected then just a kid that is c...

Re: WAR HOCK
The State Tournament was never set up to get the 8 best teams there. It's purpose was to cover the whole state. Hence, the name State Tournament. We will always have tough sections. All parts of the state should be represented.

packerboy you bring up a good point.

It's obvious though that those that use it simply for sports are many times hurting the game on numerous fronts. I know I'm not alone on this. In fact I would venture to guess 90% or more of people associated with hockey and schools would agree with me. <...

Re: All for open enrollment
I never said that schools develop the youth players. However most varsity coaches have some role in the youth program and many former varsity players help out with the youth teams. Youth programs have always been the feeder program for the local high school and they should be.

I have spoken w...

All for open enrollment
I will say again that I'm all for open enrollment when it's used properply. For the most part it is. Re: tournament
Coaching is important but the so called top ones have the players. Youth programs are a big part of the success at the high school level. For all we know the "best" coach in the state coaches at a school that averages 1 or 2 wins a year.

Re: article
This is a hockey board and I thought the article would bring along some healthy discussion. Instead I have people showing off their political ideology and not even addressing the issue. I'm a conservative but that is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. Dismiss the writer, but the issues are ...

cliff you are missing the point. Instead of ripping the writer why don't you address the issue? If you have strong feelings about why open enrollment should continue to be used as a sports avenue I'm here willing to listen to your side. If your going to get political then I want nothing to do with t...
