Re: Wood vs. Composite sticks
Make certain your defensemen go back to wood escpecially if you are Junior Level and College level. The damn compost stick does not hold up very well on the blueline as evidenced all over the professional ranks. The budget for these sticks is insane as well. Good luck coach!

Re: time
I agree with you TyrellFazio. Teams like Roseau, Warroad, Grand Rapids, etc may not be solid every year but they do get good teams every few years. It is a nice challenge to go up against big mega suburban teams like Wayzata, Eden Prarie, etc. You might get clocked, you might pull off a victory it i...

Holy Cow.....that is a very bad idea. Hockey needs to grow the game not diminish it.

That is too bad to hear. That group of coaches appeared to be very nice guys and looked to do a great job with the kids at East.

Re: lakeville south
I think you are right about the clubs who peek early (some manage to peek just right). That has always been a factor in sports since day 1 and makes for the heartaches and as well the breaks of a season. Sure it has to be dissapointing for Lakeville South but they ran into formidable opponants in Ro...

Re: Numbers
I don't know guys at this point there are still a few variables to consider. The size and scope of the Super Suburb can and will change even with Wayzata and Eden Prarie. Eventually their communites will grow older much like Bloomington Jefferson who I think is now down to 3 peewee clubs (A, B1 an B...

Re: Grand Rapids Peewee A
The Peewee State tournament was a very fun weekend. Other than Eden Prarie and Wayzata clearly who have proven to be the number 1 and 2 teams in the state. The remaining field is more than likely very close competitively speaking with Edina, Roseau, Duluth East, Lakeville South and Grand Rapids very...

Grand Rapids Peewee A
I watched the little "smurfs" from Grand Rapids play this weekend and came away very impressed with the two come from behind victories to get the consolation winner. As well the kids played Wayzata tough for 2 periods before Wayzata snuffed out the smurfs in the third period as they lookd ...

I am going to disagree with ol' HockeyDad9 and wager that 1 and possibly 2 of the northern teams will pull an upset this weekend.

elliot70,
Which tough bracket are you referring too in the region? From the looks of it both brackets were very comparable with the exception of Detroit Lakes in the National.
Duluth East fans would probably agree that Grand Rapdis and East are very comparable this season going 2-1 OT and 1-0...

lockerbox3
Just wanted to pick one major upset for the region so this was the game I decided to pick. GR Peewee A Weekend Scores
Grand Rapids 3-1 over Chaska on Friday night. Rapids had to withstand a 1:22 5 on 3 in the third. Chaska really applied the pressure in the third as well. Final goal was an empty netter with about 16 seconds left in the game. Great game and great pace.

Grand Rapids 4 - Moorhead 3 Both teams c...

That is my pick too Husker...Spuds in a very tight matchup that goes right down to the wire. I am expecting a very good game from both clubs. Not certain what Moorhead has this season just going on their past accomplishments in the prediction.

Re: Warroad Vs Hibbing 12/16
Dog gonnit' why do we have to play all the good games on the same night? If I was not having to work the game in Rapids Friday night I would be at this one in a "New York minute". Good luck to Hibbing....it is payback time!
