Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Twitter is full of idiots. There was absolutely no recruiting by Coach Janne or his staff and any accusation to the fact is a lie. This is 100% because of disgruntled parents who were able to bully a coward AD into forcing an outstanding honorable man to give up a position with a program and kids h...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Wow, that's a surprise. The reason? Junior parents The “junior parents” are NOT the reason Janne is out. Everyone knows who was recruiting at South, and there was more going on than just that alone. If Janne didn’t put a stop to any of the bs, it’s his own fault. And to anyone who is recruiting, co...

Re: Janne Kivihalme Out at Lakeville South
I agree keepyourheadup. South has never been dirty until 2 years ago when 9 kids open enrolled-2 making Varsity as freshman that year the rest on Bantam AA and 7 last year as sophmores. More than half the Varsity roster never growing up playing in Lakeville. I'm sure when Janne was hired by South 3...

Re: A Third Class
It's sad what's happening to high school sports. Same teams year after year. HT in the North HM in East Metro Lakevilles in the South Metro EP/Tonka in the West Metro Granted HM has to because its a private, but the others have large, successful hockey association, and they are ruining HS hockey wi...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
There is a west metro public school that makes Lakeville South look like peanuts. Hint, starts with M and ends with Tonka. They have been recruiting harder then most D1 schools for 10+ years. Recruit to have the player come into program as 8th or 9th grader, sometimes younger, thus flies under the ...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Hunting, I do not have a kid who plays for South. The parents who called the program out for recruiting are not spineless in my view, they had the guts to do the right thing. MSHSL rules do not allow for recruiting, and sounds like a lot of people at South knew it was happening. Better than looking...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Hunting247, pretending that recruiting doesn’t happen is your choice. Doesn’t make your view accurate. Everyone knows it’s happening and if coaches and MSHSL all look the other way, why not just do away with the rule? It’s stupid, and those who follow the rules are at a disadvantage. Solution is to ...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
The count I heard was 11 open enrolled, but I’m not positive on that, and I heard they were all paying him for extra training? A couple are from North, one from St Louis, maybe a Rosemount. If a coach allows the recruitment culture, it will happen and then it’s just not an authentic HS team. Yes it ...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Half the current team is reportedly from North, Farmington, Northfield, St Louis, etc. all of them allegedly paying the coach for extra training. Follow the money. The parent I’m talking about has apparently been orchestrating for years since his kids were in association. It didn’t just start this y...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Half of the South varsity was open enrolled, I believe. There was arguably enough Lakeville talent to not move open enrolled bantam players over true Lakeville seniors, juniors & sophomores who had funded Lakeville programs for 10+ years. There is, allegedly, a parent who did some of the recruit...

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread
Puck8, instances have been reported. I’m not lobbing attacks, just stating how it is at some schools. It’s unfortunate.

I do, in fact, understand the difference between recruit and attract. Your heads are in the sand, but if you’re happy, keep on keepin’ on.

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread
Puck8, Why should I have to find proof of all of the violations? Not my job, I didn’t make up the bylaws, but I know of instances where it’s happening. Do I have recorded phone calls, no, but I know of things that happened and who was doing it, it’s common knowledge where I’m from. By all accounts G...

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread
You don’t think the violations occur all that often? How do you know that? But you’re right about the parents, it starts there because they think Johnny is the next Wayne Gretzky and has a shot at going D1 & NHL if he could just get a State Championship on his resume, so parents move their kids ...

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread
What’s the purpose of MSHSL bylaw 308.00 solicitation of a student, if coaches and parents ignore it and MSHSL looks the other way? I have no interest in watching the “Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament” anymore if it’s just a bunch of recruited players from all over the place. Just do aw...
