The score was 3-1 WBL and Blaine has come back to tie it (2 goals by J.Brodzinski) - Blaine is also playing without Michael Brodzinski - which is a huge loss for them. They have been outshot 44-19!

That was a very entertaining game and even though Edina probably had the edge in overall depth of talent, I think Blaine was in the game and had their chances to win - both goalies played well and made some big saves. Blaine has some really nice young talent coming up and they could be knocking on t...

I would rather see a player be asked to play a year (or two) of juniors than have a player be asked to accelerate his schooling. As long as the opportunity/option to play juniors is available, I think there are many great advantages to a player pursuing that option - besides just the benefits offere...

Didn't Breck win the Silver Division of this year's Schwan Cup? I believe that entitles them to move up to the Gold Division and Holy Angels will be relegated to the Silver Division since they went 0 and 3. My hunch tells me that Breck may decline since they were such a senior laden team but that wo...

My thoughts exactly. No doubt it was a tough day for Bjugstad as he was pretty much double/triple teamed the entire game and give credit to the AV coach's game plan and players executing it perfectly; however, I was still impressed by Bjugstad and the fact he was still trying to make plays - sometim...

AV was the better TEAM today and their goalie played well - congrats and good luck the rest of the tournament. Blaine beat themselves and played too much as individuals and needed someone else to step up with Bjugstad being double and triple teamed. AV has some good young talent and played with a lo...

I totally agree with your comments and actually had a lot of the similar thoughts when Aaron Ness won the award in the same manner. I probably have more of an issue with these kids accelerating than winning Mr. Hockey and don't understand why they are doing it. It is unfair to those players that hav...

"There has to be some payback for his parents starting him late in school (I understand he's a July birthday) so he'd have a physical advantage over his classmates. " Pretty harsh comment. Did you feel the same with Aaron Ness who did exactly the same thing and was actually a May birthdate...

I see both of these players (Marshall and Ness) being similiar in many ways and both probably being better served as forwards, strictly because of their size/strength being an issue at the next level. And why Aaron Ness did not play a year (or two) of juniors is questionable as well. I would hope th...

I think a person can justify Blaine being in Tier II as much as Eden Prairie given that even though Eden Prairie's record is better (6-1), they certainly have not played the level of competition that Blaine has. Eden Prairie's only loss came to Edina; however, the rest of the teams they have played/...

There are a number of talented candidates this year and probably too early to make a good projection yet; however, my early vote would go to Nick Bjugstad. Bjugstad's total package is so impressive, even if you don't consider the points he puts up. For someone his size, he has exceptional skating ab...
