Cambridge Coach?
Has Cambridge-Isanti named a coach yet? It seems to me it is getting a little late, but maybe I just missed it.

I don't think we can take a one-year look at Marshall and Lourdes and say they should or should not be in the A tournament. Even in a down year, these schools would probably be a high seed in their respective AA section tournament. If privates were forced to move up the A tournament probably would h...

I would guess that it has happened quite a few times over the years in D10. The reason is the wide range of program sizes. There are several associations that may have 20-30 kids at a level and if they go 'A' they will end up losing most of their games by 10 or more goals. Even going 'B1' they will ...

Totally disgracefull... See ya Don  ... Welcome Dean :!: How is this disgracefull on Lucia's part? Didn't his brother skip his senior season to play in the USHL also before going on to CC? I would bet this was Kyles choice, either play this year in the USHL and come to the U in 2011 or play n...

I don't understand the ban on interlevel play. For a small association that isn't sure whether to play A or B for example; why couldn't they declare B and still enter an A tournament or at least set up some games against some weaker A teams. Also, is hockey the only youth sport that doesn't have lev...

I think Ambroz is hoping to be a top 15 pick in next years draft. Going to the U and fighting for playing time on the 4th line will not help his cause. He will help himself more by going to the USHL and putting up big numbers. The way I understand his situation is that he was unhappy with the fact t...

Lucia doesn't know how to recruit? Minnesota consistently has one of the top rated classes year after year. Some classes haven't panned out and The Don might have some issues but recruiting isn't a problem. Maybe he hasn't been accurate in a recruit's future potential but usually all other scouts mi...

Like I said 'just a hunch'. But talent hasn't been and won't be a problem for the Gophers. They have plenty of talent, the problem the last couple years has been getting them to play with intensity on a continual basis. Maybe with Lucia knowing that his job is on the line he will do whatever it take...

How did it not work out for Schroeder? He had a very good freshman year. Sure he played like he wasn't interested for the Gophers last year, but I think things worked out great for him. But to me it looked like he was ready for D1 hockey out of high school. The Gophers are going to be back near the ...

I have talked to some of them. They seem indifferent about it. They are going to move from C-I so they can play B1 bantams in another association? I don't see more than a couple of them making an A team in another association. If they are good enough to play A bantams in Blaine they should have no p...

I agree that the hs will struggle next year but I think they will get better after that. I also agree that the problem was trying to play A this year with all the issues that were brought up at both the Bantam and Peewee levels. That is the C-I boards fault from what I've heard. If they would have d...

If your talking about the high school team being competative in 7AA then yes it will be a long time. I was talking more about having at least a .500 record and finishing in the upper half of the Mississippi 8. But since the A bantams won what 2 games in D10 and the A peewees didn't win a game I real...

I think this is absolutely the result of the records of all the teams last year. But I don't know what else the boards should have done. To merge with another association and play B1 hockey makes no sense at all. I talked to a bunch of youth hockey parents (bantam and peewee) last weekend and only o...

I gotta jump in again on the CINB team. I've watched them play a handfull of games this year and there has been a big improvement in overall team play. The last game I watched against Princeton I thought the goalie played very good, actually he kept them in the game. Individual play looks much as it...

I guess that is the main point of our disagreement. The thought process by many is that you have to play at an A level in order to be competative at the next / hs level. While that statement is impossible to prove one way or the other I disagree with it for several reasons. 1. The last two senior cl...

I don't know who would have more talent on their own but just because C-I is a little bit bigger association I would guess they would. My comment is more about the fact that I don't think either together or alone that there is enough talent to play at the A level. But to merge and play B1 hockey is ...

In order to have successful teams in the future I would strongly advise against breaking up the CINB co-op or both associations will have difficulty getting kids skating at the right level, teams won't be as successful and the recruiting gets damaged. MORE MITES EVERY YEAR The teams won't be as suc...

I don't know how good the kid is, I just happen to be talking to a 3rd party 2 or 3 weeks ago who had just talked to the kid that morning. But I don't know if the TG plan was new or from last fall and he since changed his mind. I hope he comes back. As for the other player we must be talking of diff...

If the kids are having fun I guess that is the main thing. I have no doubt that the kids are improving, but it's not like playing B1 hockey in D10 is like playing your little sister as was mentioned earlier. The current A bantam team would be no better than an above average B1 team in D10. I think t...

Are they playing at a competative level now???? On their own both associations could put a competative B1 team on the ice. The only benefit to a merge is to play at an A level and I don't think parents will be willing to fork over the money for another year like this. I am guessing there will be at ...

Congrat's to CINB A bantams! They have actually been the most competative team in the program even though this is their first win. All peewee and bantam teams in CINB are a combined 2-52 and have been outscored 75-412. Make sure you thank your board members! I'm guessing this will be the end of the ...

If it is true that the parents voted to go A then I would like to retract everything I wrote in my rant. 8) Obviously it wasn't a unanimous vote as the people I talked to weren't too happy about it. But if they are in the minority they need to deal with it. Parents definitely should have a say in wh...

Honestly I am not that familiar with that group as I have older kids and most of my info is coming second hand. And perhaps more than I would like to admit, a lot of my feelings are sour grapes as this group would have made up one of the better high school teams Cambridge has had. But that being sai...
