Re: 3AA conspiracy

Exactly ER. People seem to forget that up until last year 3AA was basically the Hill/WBL section. 123,000 people showed up this year to watch the Tournament the way it is. Until that changes, the MSHSL is going to stick with the Geographical regions.

As for Tartan(out of an "inferior&quo...

Re: 5A

Hillfan, if that happens, it won't be until 2007-2008. The new sections are already out. There's a link on page 1 of this thread.

Re: 5A

I too, was intrigued by section 5a. But, not in the same way as others. Wjat I saw as odd was how they kept Mahtomedi and put Como, St. Bernard's in 5a (which is Basically teams west of the Mississippi) but still put Minnehaha, Washburn and Richfield in 3a (which is pretty much teams East of the riv...

Re: Elk River

I believe the extra team is Mpls. North. MSHSL has them as a part of section 5A, however I don't think they've fielded their own team in quite some time.

It could also be one of the new schools like; Lakeville South(are they playing varsity next year?), Providence Academy(they had a club typ...

Re: Elk River

Puckster, I hope not. But, I think it's inevitable.

The big question would be this; do you make one totally northern section, which would ensure us at least 1 team from the north. Or do you keep them divided the way they are, risking that at some point, we could have an all cities state tou...

When Mike Fermoyle was replaced as the HS sports editor, the entire HS sports portion of the PP went to S***! The Hockey Tournament Special is just a glaring example of the deterioration of the entire thing.

my plan

I just wrote it off the top of my head, so I'll just reply in the theoretical manner. Maybe there would be a rule that says if you play in a AA conference, you have to go to a AA section, or teams who have opted up in the past must stay up, or maybe have a private school section (HM, AHA, CDH, STA, ...
