JV State Champs wrote:John Holmers for BSM vs. St. Francis 2/7/08
St. Francis huh? I heard that they have been picking it up lately on the defensive end, good for Holmers. It's nice to see some of the background players for the Red Knights coming into their own against some top competition.

We played against them about a week and a half back. We left the game with a win...and some nice 2-handed slash marks. Not to mention when the final buzzer sounded at the end of the third period, one of their defensemen felt it necessary to go between one of our forwards legs and lift up with his st...

Minnetonka 3
Eden Prairie 3

It was a great all around hockey game with both teams working hard.

Shots were somewhere around 28-20 in favor of Eden Prairie, with Minnetonka's second goal being a bit controversial as there are some who claim that the player kicked it in.

On my team, we have about 2 practices for every 5 games (a rough estimation). This being said, there is stretches of 5+ games in 7-8 days etc... Its definitely taxing on both body and mind but I enjoy my time much more in Junior Gold now then the time I spent on JV a back in my sophomore year.

The best teams that I have seen so far are Edina, WBL, Minnetonka, Jefferson and Centennial. Burnsville, Wessy's and Eagan should be tough teams too. It is a throw up right now who is the best in the Metro Hockey League between the seven teams or so at the top. What about Eden Prairie, JR.? Against...

Eden Prairie's goalie is pretty good, along with Minnetonka's goalie, and the better of Jefferson's two.

Ya for the people who played them all it was fun. I play on a premier soccer team too and was playing tournaments during a couple of our tournaments and league games.

We played more than you UNDlars. We played 23 league games, 12 tournament games (Fargo, Onalaska, Minnetonka and EP tourneys), and 6 playoff games (it took us 3 in regionals to make it to state) so that makes 41.

In Metro we play everyone once. Thats 23 games. Plus you got tournaments, I think we had like 4, so thats 35 games...and then playoffs and if they won state thats 5 more games right there so 40 games is plausible.

If that was the case and you knew both teams would play "B", why not split the teams evenly? Had you split them even, possbily like WBL did, both teams would have had a great shot at making the playoffs. And in my opinion you guys would have done fine in "A". All three of your li...

In my opinion if anything, teams should err on the side of playing up a level. Otherwise it takes away from the teams that have two teams and the players that maybe aren't that calibur but still put in the effort. Look no further than this years state champion for "B"., Inver Grove Heights...

No "A" Teams? Discuss.

Only 2 of the 8 teams in their year's Junior Gold "B" State Tournament also fielded "A" teams. Several of the teams in the tourney even had two teams playing at the "B" level. What are people's thoughts on this? I personally believe that programs that field at least two...

Franchise, if you keep getting hit behind the net over the course of the season...maybe you should stop playing the puck behind the net. Our player hit you because you had the puck. He's not going to stop and curtiously let you play the puck, this is hockey, not basketball, he is going to knock you ...

The Chaska goalie (franchise) received a match penalty for his actions and it is my understanding that he was suspended earlier this season for skating down the ice a punching the EP goalie, so most likely he will never be allowed to play in a USA Hockey sactioned game again. There will be a hearin...

Could someone give me a play by play of what franchise did? I actually wasn't at any of the games today (went to the Gopher Final Five game, and had an intense pregame, so couldn't make it). Any way, did the player franchise hit get hurt or what actually happened. Either way, from the sounds of it,...

That was the final, too bad you couldn't stay for the rest of the game. Just wondering which player was that two-handed goalie-stick tomahawk aimed at? Because you missed them both and hit your own guy. And In response to we couldn't score on you...we could...we did...3 times. And you guys "won...
