Hill-Murray 08' team compared to Edina 10' team

I think that these teams that won state are very similar to one another. Both had 4 solid lines and six solid defensemen with the only difference in my opinion being the goaltender. Joe Phillippi was absolutely amazing back in 2008. Both Edina and Hill came into the season with no one really talking...

2010-2011 Season Predictions

What teams will contend for the title next year? What teams will surprise? I personally think that Hill-Murray and Edina will be the top teams next year. Apple Valley has a lot of young talent, but maybe Minnetonka will do an Edina on all of us and win the title without their Division 1 talent. All ...

Hill-Murray wins the 3rd place game 6-3. Nice game for the seniors: Jack Walsh, Willie Faust, Jordan Johnson, Chris Casto, and David Bruchu to go out on. Also a good game to look at the future of Hill-Murray hockey with Loren French, Ryan Holler, Kevin Schulze, Ben Bahe, and Kevin Becker all making ...

08' Hill-Murray Pioneers or 09' Eden Prairie

Who would win between these two great teams. Personally I have to go with my Pioneers on this one. Furne would nipe all day on Ford and Flip would shut down Leddy and co. State 08

i think it is obvious that replacing phillippi is the main question for hill in the off season. I think no one is giving Kirk enough credit though. The kid is from California last year and managed to make it into HM program. I heard from a few players he's skating over at impact this summer and not...

I have heard that Ben Marshall is thinking about coming to Hill, but could he still transfer over to Hill with the transfer rule ? And also I think that this team will win the section next year and make another run at defending their titile. Jeff Westerhaus and Monte French will step it up next year...

Shaugnessy is the better goalie of the two though. The only knock on him is that he is small. Kirk McGinley should be fine in net. I hope

But they lose the player that had more to do with their championship than anyone else in Joe Phillipi. Who's gonna replace him? Kirk McGinley There is some good young talent on JV in Basil Sampair. Should be a good battle for the spot. Either way I would not look for as many shutouts or a 93% save ...

Pioneers will be just fine First Line: Tyler Zepeda, Isaac Kohls, Jeff Westerhaus Second: Nick Widing, Monte French, Paul Prescott Third: Jack Walsh, Open, Open - Plenty of talent coming up from a strong JV team to fill these slots. 4 solid defensive players in Chris Casto, Jordan Johnson, Jonathan...

You meant to give Furne credit for providing plenty of both.
Yes good job of correcting me. Furne also did a good job on defense as did the whole team.

Tournament MVP

Not to be biased but Joe Phillippi and Ryan Furne. I think both of them played excellent and that one provided offense and another provided defense.

Tyler Zepeda suffered an injury and will not be able to play in this game. The team is moving Jeff Westerhaus to 2nd line and the 1st line will be Furne, Cecka, and Kohls. Im still taking Hill-Murray in this one though, they will more focused for this game.
