District "all-star" teams that play birth year in a state/national tourny set up at the end of the mnhockey season. I'm hesistantly going to bite... There is already a process in place for this, it called the advanced, or Select 15,16,17. They are district/section based on birthyear. I do...

Re: refs

Couldn't agree more.!!!I too saw this last night in the ER v Blaine game. One of the refs (with stripes) could barely skate, let alone keep up with the speed of the game. It cost both teams in different instances, both with penalties and or early/late whistles because he was too far behind the play...

LPH article

After typing this, I apologize for the bouncing around and somewhat incomplete thoughts.... I have for years sung the praises of the ADM and LTAD. But I over the years have first hand, started to see the downfalls of the ADM, and it's "boxed in" approach. I do feel the ADM is a GREAT base ...

Denfeld

For the people who are whining about Duluth Denfeld winning the B1 State tournament. Have you watched the team play? They have 1 A level player IMO, and that is their goalie. Without their goalie they lose most games by 3 or more goals. I am not discrediting this team, it is a great story, but in no...

I beleive both goalies from that team, Samargia(Minn), and Sikich(Air Force) both went to D1 schools before transfering to St. Thomas.

I also have no idea how many points my kid had as a mite. =D> Good for you!!! The way it should be!!! To the point made about how it can help a higher end 6-7 year old... the ADM is not the bible. It is merely a guideline to help the majority of kids. there will always be those kids that progress f...

Looking back to WCHA hockey, Bochenski was a much better player and pure goal scorer, but he is no longer in the NHL. Both great players. And having an in with the Blaine folk, apparently it was Hendricks' mom that was pushing for the jersey retirement. Played with both of these guys... I have to c...

I'm actually ok with the 1:30 penalties. I was against it at first, but it makes sense. It really forces teams, and coaches to teach the kids to attack the net as much as possible, instead of looking for the unbelievable, thread the needle back door, one timer....

Tip of the cap.... No I have no studies. and you make some valid points. But if I gave the impression that burn out is the #1 cause of players leaving the game it was not my intention. I am simply saying that these same 5-8 year olds, if asked, without mom and dad around, would tell you that at time...

To support the Huge one: the kids skate more than 25 hours the first 5 or 6 weeks before they skate their first games. Before our association mites even hit the ice, the choice mites had already skated nearly the same number of hours our association mites will skate the entire year (including cross...

We don't put younger kids on a 100 yard football field and we don't have younger kids pitching from a MLB mound or running MLB bases either. It's near financially impossible to build smaller rinks so this seems like a good compromise. Couldn't have put it better myself. =D> But I know a bunch of yo...
