Edina is a mess. They lost some play-makers from last year and now play individual hockey at the forward positions. Defense is good. Goal tending is ok-to-good. It's really the 9 up front that will determine whether they can make it happen.

Hopkins is the team. Mark it down.

Edina scrimmaged Blake last night...beat them 3 to 1. Interesting.

I think Edina beat Roseville 5-0 and Centenial 1-0.

My best guess is Edina will be in the top 7, maybe top 5. Still too much uncertainty. They lost a lot of senior scoring, but will also replace much of it. They have good skill top to bottom (probably better than last year), but have lost some size and strength. They looked pretty good at the scrimma...

I think the west metro AA teams are at the top of the pile -- during the season. Year-end tourney is another matter entirely!

All four of the teams mentioned will make the Classic Lake tough next year...Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Wayzata. Edina will lose a lot of goal production through graduation, but it should be noted that their current sophomores and freshmen (and 8th graders) have won 2 state championships and bee...
