WAYOUTWEST is sure a bitter one, easy all-star! Those numbers are second tier, they equal a 500 record in high school. Not many care about "B" rankings. They don't correlate to successful programs except at Edina the last several years, or Jefferson back in the day. Did someone's kid get c...

HOCKEY SCOUT is right on, if only people could understand and accept this. One only needs to look at Eden Prairie to understand how players/programs change as the players reach HS age. When's the last time EP has won a state HS championship or had a real sniff at it?

If Housley were coaching Roseau or Edina this year I highly doubt his coaching abilities would come into question. Sound like a parental nightmare in Stillwater. Phil's feeder system is the youth program, can't remember the last time I have heard "Stillwater youth hockey" and "top pro...

CB00 you are right on! Goalies, as well as positional players, are athletically pre-dispositioned to be good at their chosen sport. It's not some position specific guru who puts them into a Division 1 institution. I personally know plenty of goalies who have coached pro's and D1 guys who have done m...

Standout players will be standout players for one simple reason, they are excellent athletes! As they say, "You can't make chicken soup out of chicken %$#", it holds true across the board. Doesn't matter if you put skates on at 10 for the first time, it's in the genetic make-up of each kid...

Holy Angels overall skill this year is VERY poor when stacked against the better teams in the state! Coach Trebil is the same coach he was when leading the Jefferson Peewees, Bantams, and Stars to state championships. Poor players = poor teams, there is no magic wand!

Kids should play "shinny" whenever they get a chance, just use common sense. Day before game, no problem! 2 hours before and showing up at the rink with chopped up blades, not so good! Take advantage of the outdoor ice we have this winter, nothing develops skill and creativity better than ...

They had 19 players sign up for tryouts at the Bantam level this year, 16 showed up and they all currently play on the Bantam A team. That's 16 players TOTAL at the Bantam level. I don't care who you have as coach, bring in Scotty Bowman, he would have the same results. The program has really fallen...

Exceed Hockey Development is putting on an event next year in the Twin Cities that will showcase East coast teams against top Minnesota high school teams. I think it starts the day after Thanksgiving.

Screaming Garbage and The Youth Coach!

Unfortunately, there are many youth coaches who lack the necessary hockey knowledge to coach in practices, much less competitive hockey games. Young players learn from instruction, not from the barking guy in jeans and a sweatshirt posing as a coach. The best coaches in hockey understand that yellin...

I'd like to share, but I can't! I know a couple of the HS programs want to keep it quiet so they don't upset teams they have to bump off their schedule. They are VERY good teams!!

I was told NP had a very qualified younger candidate interview for this position. If it's who I heard can't believe he didn't get the job. Seems like a strange choice considering the past issues!
