Interesting thread. Here are my two cents: 1. It is my understanding (as the last poster stated) that Minnesota Hockey would not allow Blake to play at the A level. I think that STA and Minnehaha faced the same restriction (whether they would have wanted to play up or not is a different question). T...

I don't think that Eagan is underrated. I think that their a top 20 or top 25 team at best, where i think their ranked right now. This season Eagan beat the following top 10 or top 20 teams: Stillwater, WBL Black, Wayzata Navy, Woodbury Blue, Woodbury White, Moorhead Black, Duluth East Red, Richfie...

Why would they? If they have a kid who's in his second year of playing, he probably doesn't see much ice unt...

Playoffs for associations with no "A" team
It seems like there were quite a few associations who did not host a Bantam A team this year who have Bantam B teams in the playoffs. I assume that the same is true on the Peewee level. Someone told me that there used to be a rule against that in Minnesota Hockey, that if you didn't have an A team y...

D8 Playoffs
Woodbury Black (White) lost to Eagan 3-2 in triple overtime.
Woodbury Blue and Eagan advance to the East Regions. Woodbury Blue is the #1 seed and Eagan the #2 seed from D8.

Re: NHL for Brian Bochenski under current tranfer HS rules??
Star and Tribune said he transferred as a junior to Benilde. Are we limiting player's development options in MN due to these new rules? My guess is this transfer was critical to Brian's success. At the very least, we seem to be limiting opportunity for our MN boys which are being cut by their high ...

Re: Dist. 8
What do you say about a 4th place team from the rotten T.C. District pounding good Dist. 8 teams in the playoffs! Really? If you're talking about STA, they don't play any "good" D8 teams in the district playoffs until tonight when they play Woodbury. The teams they played so far (No...

Re: 1 team vs 2 teams
Put the kids where they belong and don't worry about "pleased" kids. Bottom line, put the kids at the level they belong, if that means two b1 teams, so be it. Well of course putting the kids where they belong is always the goal, but that's easier said than done. If you have 22 skaters who...

Minnetonka Tournament
Yesterday: Minnetonka 2, Coon Rapids 0 Eagan 4, Buffalo 0 Today: Minnetonka 4, Eagan 2 (it was 3-2 with 1 minute to go; tonka scored short-handed, shots were ~ 24 for Tonka to 21 for Eagan, 'though Eagan was up 10-0 on shots after 10 minutes in the first period) Woodbury Blue over Hermantown (not su...

The PHIT (formerly Impact Hockey) program advertises a great development program: small group sessions, unlimited dryland, talented instructors, premier development, connections to Junior programs and scouts, ... However, my experience there has been that it becomes an overpriced day care center. P...

Bnyrup, No idea. I might be wrong. I know they will not be competing under D1 and they are located in D8. Not sure how D8 is going to work things or if STA will have an opportunity there at all. Well, they aren't part of D8, and I don't think D8 would let them into the district for purposes of the ...

I'm starting to think that most of the posts dissing Woodbury's B1 teams (both Blue and Black (aka White) are posts from Woodbury coaches or parents trying to mount a disinformation campaign to keep other teams off guard. Make no mistake: Woodbury has two or three very good Bantam teams, and some ve...
