Its a good question. The Twins refused to pay Silva "what he was worth" and likewise Santana. Santana helped get his manager fired and was quoted early on as saying "I cant do it all".
Silva got his GM fired (Bavasi) and is questioning the heart of his teamates while compiling an ERA that requires assisitance from HAL to compute.
Minneapolis, MN - Boooooof Bonser has pitched 2 complete innings without allowing a run (including a Frank Thomas pop out). Citizens are urged to collect bottled water, canned goods, and their family pets and head to the nearest shelter. The end of the world is imminent.

The Adios Torii Factor moves to +1 with a very nice win to start the trip. Scott Baker throws a great game... If you're able to hold that lineup to a run and 4 hits in 8 innings in their own park, you've done something, and he did.
Need another strong outing from Perk tonight... AND NO FALLING APART AFTER 5!!!!

Yeah, he leaked oil like a Harley last game but he shutout the Yanks for 8 innings the game before.
This trip is a test to see if our young starters are "all gwoed up". Now packerboy, being a man of little faith, doesn't think so. I say unless Shanty mentions a "tear" they'll do nicely.
Great start to the series/trip by Baker on "The Drive To 95"!
Last night was the first good stretch of innings they have had in quite a while, especially on the road.
It was a good win last night.
Morneau cant do it by himself so it was good to see Cargo and Punto contribute.
Span has to stay in the lineup when Cuddyer gets back.
Its amazing what speed can do to a defense. If Casilla , Span and Gomez are in there its gotta be...well, Like A Nightmare for opposing players and especialy a realitively non athletic fielder like Lackey.
When Cuddyer gets back, Id put him at DH. I know he signed the big contract and blah blah blah but he cant outplay Span; the lineup has more fire with Gomez in there ;and they didnt trade a proven starter for Young to sit him.
But wait, what will that do to Jason Kubel at bats?
He couldn't do it at all last night... 7 LOB, and the Halos intentially walk Mauer twice to pitch to him?!?!?! He needs to get going on this roadie. They dodged a bullet with a performance like that... He has to make them pay for pulling that kind of a stunt.

He has to make them pay for that. He needs to get going on this roadie. They dodged a bullet with a performance like that.
I agree Govs but he isnt going to knock in a run and get a /the big hit every night. NOBODY does that.
They walked Mauer to set up a force play not because they'd rather pitch to Morneau. Morneau has 96 RBI, second in the league.(last time I looked)
He will make them pay and often, but not everytime.
Obviously that's why they walked him, but last week Josh Hamilton got intentionally walked with the bases loaded. Why? Because he'll do the damage more often than not.
Often Morneau will as well, but Scioscia decided to go ahead and put the pressure right on his shoulders to see what he'd do with it (ah... the fun you can have with a 15 game division lead!), and he failed. It was a ballsy move that paid off for him, but Justin has to step it up then the heat's on.
Just for kicks I checked to see how Livan is doing with the Rockies...
W/L = 1-1
ERA = 15.58
Games = 2
IP = 8.2
Hits = 17
Runs = 15
ER = 15
W = 5
K = 3
In his second start since the Rockies acquired him off waivers from Minnesota, the right-hander gave up six runs in six innings of a 13-6 victory over Washington on Saturday. Four of those runs came in Hernandez's final inning.
"I think he's in a lot better place than when he joined us," Hurdle said. "I just think he fatigued a little bit in the sixth inning."

I effectively put the Tigers in their 2008 cage once and for all by posting "Tigers 55-55, All Square and Ready to go on a Tear" on the michhock.com forum
