Blaming the brige collapse for lack of interest in the opener.

Pathetic.
Sounds like you're take everything the Vikes do personally, PB. Relax... it's just a form of entertainment my man... just a game to watch for 3 hours a week.

I will agree that's it's b.s. to start blaming the bridge collapse and construction for not selling tickets... reeks of desperation. It does take a big brass pair to ask the state to postpone construction for their game though. Nice try boys!

Well, Govs, anybody who wants to be a die hard Viking fan can be and I wont hold it against them.

But, in my humble opinion, as fans, we do more harm than good by showing up like sheep no matter what the product on the field.

I think it has allowed the Vikings to take their fans for granted and the pressure to win has been off.

I think this happened in Green Bay for 25 years from the late 60s to the early 90's. I dont want to see it here.

You should go to a game in NY or Phily if you think I'm bad.

So based on the offense they'll be taking into this game, you mean they'll win 4-0?

Two safeties???

No.

Let's say Vikings by 5.

A safety and a field goal.

Damn!! I was going to buy a ticket :x

Oh well... I guess now I can stay home, I don't have to wait in line to use the bathroom, strong beer is $1.67 per 12 oz serving,(although personal delivery of it will still be a problem) Nacho's will come with real cheese...and I can throw things at the players, coaches, and Refs with impunity as long as it doesn't break the screen

Vikings win 24-3. Looked very solid on defense, but can't rely on 2 TDs from them every week.

Game #3 @KC is the last chance at a victory for a while. I don't know if KC is any good but through two weeks they've proven their not as good as whoever they've lined up against.

Game #4 Green Bay: Our offense can't outscore Favre's regardless of where the game is held.
Game #5 @Chicago: Vikes will get two scores, both fieldgoals, no chance here
Game #6 @Dallas: No chance here, they'll have no answer for Romo to TO
Game #7 Philly: With defensive points, they could win this
Game #8 San Diego: Kittna chewed 'em up, what will the Chargers do?

Best Case Scenario at the halfway point: 3-5, the Lion loss was huge.

I see we had a big celebration about this being the 40 year anniversary of the Vikings hiring Bud Grant.

Bud seems like a great guy and he was a very good coach.

But how weak is that.

Lets throw a party for the coach who was at the helm for 4 Super Bowl losses and 0 wins.

Sorry, I just cant get over how this town wraps itself around the Vikings at every opportunity no matter what and treats its baseball team(which has actually won 2 World Championships) like a red headed step child at the slightest of slips.

Whats the infatuation?

Hey, Ive got a good idea. The 5 year anniversary of Denny Greens 52-0 loss in the NFC championship game to the Giants has got to be close by and next year the 10 year for the 1998 debacle vs Atlanta. Lets bring Denny back and celebrate.

Well as far as the Vikes....we sure as h--l ain't gonna celebrate the Packers.
My take would be it is more about the man then the team.
You can't lose a super bowl unless you get there, and he got us there 4 times has anyone got us that far since?
Go easy on the Bud Man :D

I am reminded that the loss to the Giants was 'only' 41-0 and that it was 7 years ago. Well, we will just have to skip the 5 year and celebrate the 10.

Yah CNT, I have heard that spin before: "Well at least he got us there".

And I suppose if thats all you have to celebrate.....

Bud used to say "Statistics are for the losers"

Apparently, so are anniversary parties...at least in Viking land.

So I take it you won't be attending? :)

What if only winners played? we'd have no game.

I do think at the present time they're trying anything to keep fan interest...it's going to be a brutally long season for Vikes fans.

Rings of the Les Steckle year :(

I do give them credit for invoking the past right now because the present and near future dont look too bright.

A. Petersen is the only reason to watch them.

It doesnt look like anybody else knows what they are doing.

It is good that they finally had a good draft but they need at least 2 more.
