You're probably right, Albert Lea, Rochester Lourdes, Spring Lake Park, Wadena, Hutchinson, they are all easy games for Marshallbodangles8 wrote:oh so marshall has like 3 hard section games (NU twice & LDC out of like 25 ) now thats a tuff schedule

Re: schedules
Hey, c'mon. Don't generalize that all New Ulm players/fans ALWAYS make excuses. I know that I have made excuses, but I'll straight up admit that Marshall won, and made us look like a pissed off JV team. Fluke or not, Marshall won. Anyway, I think either New Ulm or Marshall takes toughest schedule.stanryckman wrote:bodangles8, you should check the schedules before you say anything. why dont you check who marshall really plays? you should also look at Hutch's schedule and the conference they are in. they'll be there at the end of the year. and another thing, nu ALWAYS makes excuses when they lose. they never give any team credit when it's deserved. it's always something different. regardless of this, they are still the team to beat imo

My mistake, i must have been too focused on fairmont, waseca, prairie centre, and st. peter...As for Duluth Marshall,Fanofhockey6 wrote:Wow you are an idiot to say New Ulm has a very weak schedule. I believe they go to the Duluth Marshall tournament who happens to be one of hte top teams in the state. They also have to play shattuck. It's not our fault that the top teams dont want to play us because we keep up with them and make them look bad in the rankings. And I wasnt talking about the marshall forwards skating around burgau and kohn so get your story right.
I am eager to see how NU does in the tournament and i wish them the best of luck
And as for rankings....yep it looks like NU is making everyone look bad

WILLMAR — A penalty shot and an open-net goal, all in the last minute of the game, dealt Willmar another hard loss in boys hockey on Saturday night at the Civic Center.
In their first meeting ever, the Marshall Tigers upended the Cardinal, their Section 3A foe, 4-2 in a non-conference game.
Willmar (1-7) enjoyed a 2-1 lead after Josh Mead scored at 9:07 of the third period.
The goal resulted from some steady pressure applied by Mead, Joel Schendel and Matt Kroneberger during a 4-on-4.
In a game with quality chances few for either team, Willmar’ one-goal lead looked sound. But Marshall got its’ sixth man-advantage of the game three minutes later and at 12:05 John Doom beat Willmar goalie John Mattison.
With just over a minute left in the third period, Marshall got a clean breakaway out of center ice. Mattison deflected Danny Hanson’s shot from the left side. However, defenseman Matt Kroneberger, whose second period goal had tied the game 1-1, was called for hooking Hanson’s arm.
Hanson was awarded a penalty shot and this time he went straight at Mattison jamming the puck under his pads. Tony Krogen slapped an 80-footer into an unguarded Willmar net with :01 left for the final.
Tigers’ goalie Paul Ivers made 28 saves coming off a 7-1 over New Ulm.
Marshall improved to 7-1, the best start by the decade-old hockey program. Willmar lost its seventh straight, a skid in which it has been outscored 30 goals to 10.
Marshall 4, Willmar 2

Willmar (1-7) 0 1 1 — 2
FIRST PERIOD – Mar: Ryne Hanson (Grant Sattler) 14:22, powerplay

atleast spell butt right....we are all adults here. And im pretty sure the toughness of your schedule does matter. If you play tough teams all year long it will really help you in the long run. Marshall has the most pathetic fan-base in the state and this is a fact. Go to a New Ulm game and you will be blown away. To bad they dont play in tiny Vogel arena anymore. That place used to really rock. And Kohn is ranked in the top Jr. defensemen in the state so learn his name. And Burgau is number two.

I don't know if I would agree with that, I heard the "Start the buses" cheer very loud and clear at the Marshall v New Ulm game not to mention a few more of the classic ones that probably left a little sting on New Ulm's way outFanofhockey6 wrote:Marshall has the most pathetic fan-base in the state and this is a fact.

I dont know if that loss bruised your ego or not? but it seems to me your a little sore just because of the loss. I dont why you have to bash the marshall fans when all ive heard is good things of them, im pretty sure both teams have great fan attendance and involvment, thats what makes their games so much fun.Marshall has the most pathetic fan-base in the state and this is a fact

how is that a fact. i believe that is a opinion if i have ever seen one and if you were at the game when marshall won 7-1 to a pathetic looking new ulm you would have heard great cheers from the marshall student section you may be thinking of student sections of years past but the marshall maniacs are as crazy as ever. You might want to get your facts straight maybe new ulm should practice more on the ice then the cheers they are going to do.
