Locked Transferring. Open Enrollment, RECRUITING Thread

Post by Knowlze »

Lee,

What is the reason for locking the Transfering, Open Enrollment, RECRUITING thread, because the topic has been "beaten to death"?

Why can't the posters make this decision? Are they not capable of deciding whether or not to respond? I think if people are tired of the topic, they will not read, or post. Do we really need your censorship if there is no swearing or personal verbal attacks?

Nobody is making Zamman or others read the post. It may be easier to label the topic as "beaten to death", and censor, rather than argue their point. Is it not what this board is about, to present information, ideas and opinions about HS hockey. Unfortunately, this topic is part of HS hockey, like it or not.

Quite frankly, I am tired of Duluth East threads. They have been "beaten to death". Will you lock them before they get started?

Knowlze, send me or Mitch an email if you have concerns. Don't air your gripes about how the Board is run here. You know better. Do you?

In case you don't, from the Forum Rules:

Quote:
5. Admin policy is to be discussed via e-mail only, not on the board. Also note that whether/why another user was banned is nobody else's business.

Looks pretty clear to me but maybe some people haven't read the rules.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey>east hockey at: 8/12/05 7:14 am

I do now, fair enough, my error.

I have read the Forum Rules, didn't realize it as Admin Policy.

Did not mean to criticize, however, I stand by the point and think it is important for all to see. In general, you and Mitch do a fine job. Thanks for your work and the opportunity to talk hockey and voice an opinion.

I agree Knowlze. it seems some fans that have reaped the benefits of open enrollment (recruiting) are the ones that cry foul. this topic will not go away until the HS League takes a tough stand on this problem.

Knowlze,

I don't have a problem with discussing the issue. What I have a problem with is that the issue tends to permeate several different topics at once. Mention "Warroad" in a thread and eventually it'll disintegrate into an Open Enrollment debate or a Class AA vs Class A debate. Just as an example.

One thing I'm in favor of (Mitch? Reading?) is to have one topic devoted to Open Enrollment and just let people have at it (within reason). Have another one for Private vs Public. Have a third one for Class AA vs Class A. Those are the three major issues which keep popping up in threads which (at least initially) have nothing to do with those "hot topics". And then make it clear that any posts in other topics trying to pull them towards these issues will get nuked.

Unfortunately, we can't make them Sticky Topics (since we're no longer a Gold Community), but I think that the attention paid to those issues would keep them at least on Page One if not right at the top of Page One.

So....in hindsight.....perhaps I could've posted that this is the topic to discuss Open Enrollment and let the debate begin. I still might do that after I get with Mitch to see what he thinks about this.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005

Talked with the Bemidji boys this weekend. Sounds like they're all standing pat and are giving the new guy whoever it is at least a year to see some changes. So as of right now it looks as if Summer Santa is leaving a lump of coal for the Warrior Faithful. But wait; the first day of class hasn't started yet, we'll see if it's a midnight delivery when we're all tucked in. They aren't the only section 8 team to get stiffed so far on what they wished for, I've heard TRF's order for a goalie from LOW to "seal the deal" on the section didn't unfold. Two weeks and counting for Summer Santa to deliver to ALL the "good little boys and girls....programs"

Not 100% sure, but I am fairly certain that D Nick Jaskowiak is going to transfer from Benilde to Jefferson. I saw him working out in the JAC this morning, and he said he was most likely going to come here.
-------------------

Who is the orca? Who is the octopus? I AM THE WALRUS!

This is great Jaskoviak limping back to Jefferson with his tail between his legs!

How did Gods gift to hockey not get asked to Ann Arbor?

I cant wait to see his dad and ask him about the change of heart, I am sure he has a great excuse for dumping Jefferson and now limping back, what a great example of the " grass isn't always greener on the private school side of the fence. First Levine and now Jaskoviak the greatest is LIMPING back where they were developed!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
