Definitely one of the most shocking pieces of information at any level for this years playoffs...

Woodbury 2
Eagan 3

Woodbury doesn't get a spot to regions, a team i thought to be very strong.

Does anybody know any details about this playoff struggle?

I believe Woodbury's playoff record goes as follows
L-3-2 to Rochester Black
W-6-3 over Hastings
W-8-1 over River Heights
L-3-2 to Eagan

2-2 in district playoffs, weird for a team that previously has not lost a single district game in the regular season.

Mg beats Blake 4-2 to win D3 championship

Wayzata Blue over Wayzat Gold 6-1 to advance to regions

Blue and Blake play tomorrow for the 2 and 3 seeds

oh please! if chaska is not there why is the shock of Woodbury not being there such earth shattering news? They lost twice to Chaska, who proved to be as consistent as global warming. Sell it to Al Gore so he has something else to falsely support.

It's simple they are 14! Chaska up/down a lot of the season. Woodbury very good forwards and defense. Average goaltending.

They out players Rochester Black. They played better then Eagan. A stupid penalty after Woodburys second goal allow Eagan to score a PP and get confidence.

D10 update

Post by blueblood »

Blaine vs. Centennial Red for D10 'ship. Winner gets #1 seed, loser gets 3rd seed to East regional.

Chisago vs. ER for 3rd. Chisago gets #2 seed because of being regular seson league champs.

Stick a fork in ER, they're done.

Have you seen Woodbury play other than the losses to Chaska? Chaska was the most inconsistent team in B1 hockey this past year. Perhaps they were just ready to go on those nights. Plus Chaska is in D6, which is easily the toughest district in the state. Woodbury is in D8, which is still tough, but not nearly as tough as D6 is. I dont know the story behind Woodbury this year. I know I have seen them play multiple times and they impressed me then. Perhaps when you have seen them play they looked a lot different.

Final D2 seeds

1-Stillwater
2-White Bear Black

Black beat Orange today in a double OT game 7-6

Stillwater and WBL Black will head to Stillwater for regions and Orange will be going to Mankato i believe.

I called it! I said Black would be D6 champs. Check the archives.
Although they arent officially the champs, they made a fantastic run. You gotta love it,

Red Division
A-D3#1 Maple Grove
B-D5#2 Mound Westonka
C-D6#2 EP Black
D-D6#3 Burnsville

Blue Division

G-D6#1 EP Red
H-D3#3 Blake

Shoot Pass Score -- Gee, what are you a believer in "close enough is good enough"??????

EP Red won the D6 Regular season title by a good margin, and then held off their brethren from EP Black to win the post seaon title..... Yes, EP Black had a great run, but they certainly didn't win anything, other than a spot in the Regions and some respect.

Plymouth will be a great location for some execptional hockey next weekend!

I'm just looking for excuses to toot my own horn. I'm not by any means taking anything away from EP Red. I just predicted that Black would win the D6 playoffs. They were close enough for me! I'm putting it on my resume.

I would have to agree with Hawkguy09. Shoot, you said they would win it.
If you would have said that they would take 2nd, I would give you a prize.

I was at the game on Saturday and saw a very good game. Both goalies played great. I thought hallran was rock solid in the 3-0 win. Black looked very quick. I could not make the game on Sunday, but 1-0 for Red sounds like Hellier and Blasy were both solid. What were shot totals?

ShootPassScore, I will give you some credit. Nice call on EP Black. This could be the year! Not many gave Black a chance. Black needs to change history a little as 04-05 Black went to state and could not get it done, 05-06 they were the most taleted team in the state and could not even get out of regions. 06-07 Black has the grinders and goaltending to keep the train rolling! It has been a great run, let's hope it continues. I like the Black's bracket in regions! If all fails I am sure we can jump on the Red bandwagon as those young kids just know how to win the Big games!

any state champion predictions :?: :?:

teams looking strong:
EP red (unstopable goal tending)
Blaine (solid defensive team, #21, #8, and #19 offensively)
Chisago Lakes (#26/6 and #9 .. enough said)
Blake (private school :D must be good, right?)
WBL orange (size, puck movement)

all and all we have a good BB1 state tournament coming up.

note: both edinas are OUT!!!

pioneer - thank you so much for doing these standings. I still say you should approach LPH and sell them on your service. Well done, very accurate and our ranking was the only highlight of the year.

I agree with tomASS. You need to sell your services to LPH or MHJ before they come up with it. Thanks A Million for your work.

big shooter...

as my team has played WBL Orange many times this year, trust me, their puck movement and speed has decreased since earlier in the year. Dont get me wrong, they're still a good team, but you just need to play physical with them and get them on their toes!!!
