Moundsview wins 3-1 with open net goal at the buzzer. Hats off to the mustangs as they survive the barrage. shots were 35-15 in favor of Roseville, who controlled the game but couldn't score.

I don't know about the  with the WBL 3 Stillwater 2 score. I thought WBL was the better team and even though took more penalties (AGAIN) outshot stillwater and controlled play.

No not a shock to all but I think most thought Stillwater would win - great hard fought win for WB! Section 4AA looks to be very interesting come Sections.

dont think everyone thought Stillwater would win they already have a number of loses its one of those years anything can happen. Remember in 07 when they won state they lost quite a few games. We'll see who rises to the occasion when tourney time comes. My be some surprises. In regard to the coment how the mighty have fallen. I guess you would have to first be mighty before you can fall? Almost like the quote "i'd rather be a has been than a never was"

I didn't think either team could say they controlled the play. I thought it was pretty even. Stillwater is playing 6 D and 3 lines pretty consistently. Maybe this will pay off during the long season. WB does a good job of keeping teams to the outside and not giving up alot of shots.

I thought 5 on 5 WBL controlled play. WBL plays 3 lines and 5 D :? If WBL can figure out how to stay out of the box they can beat anyone. No, I don't think they will figure it out. :( Good luck coaches. You'll be the best in my mind if you can. :D

I think stillwater is a very strong team who just needs to remember years past when they played like a team(That is what I feel makes stillwater strong at the end of every year). I saw a lot of individuals. Yes, I do believe they will figure it out before the end of the year.

Hill Murray 6 Simley 0  JK Joe.

Only if you believe the rankings are accurate. Maybe Stillwater isn't a top 10 team and White Bear is a top 5 team? Who knows, thats why I don't care about rankings. The only thing that matters is how you are playing in the sections.

This was a very big win for WBL as a win in conference play is so important, especially in the SEC. We have a strong conference and an even stronger section when you factor in Hill Murray, who always finishes strong in their conference and comes into the section with a high seed.

Now WBL faces Roseville tomorrow night. Should be fun to watch.

KEY Tomorrow night. Stay out of the BOX at all costs. Avoid the tick tacky stuff. On Saturday the play that saved us was two players pulling our girl away when she was gonna go after the stillwater player that was going to get a penalty at the end of the second. It gave us a power play at the beginning of the third that won the game. Our more level headed players need to do more of that. That was huge! It won the game.

Not sure how important winning the SEC is as I checked and the last time Stillwater won it was 2006. Roseville won the conference in 2007, 08 and 09 yet look who has 2 state titles in that same time frame. I think it is the toughest conference in the state and it really seems to prepare these teams to succeed in sections. You could have potentially 4 going to state from the SEC as they have teams in 4 different sections. I would think 2 have a really good chance this year.

Stillwater is a top 5 team on most nights!

WBL is a top 10 team on most nights. If they stay out of the box they're a top 5 team. So far they haven't stayed out of the box!!!!!

PHM upset Breck tonight 3-1 shots were in favor of Breck 41-17 but the PHM goalie played very good stopping 2 breakaways in the first 5 minutes or so.

Breck has alot of skilled players, the one who stuck out the most to me was freshman #6 Kate Schipper. Breck had much more crisp passing and controlled most of the play although PHM was very gritty and seemed to always knock the puck away when needed.

PHM led 2-1 with about 2:30 left in game and Breck pulled the goalie and put alot of pressure on but PHM came up with an empty net goal with a half minute left in game.

Also of note Breck had a goal taken back because the net came off the post...the PHM goalie seemed to help guide it back in place...the whistle never blew and Breck hit one in the net but the refs waved it off anyway.
